The least memorable players in Sheffield Wednesday's history

Recommended Posts

John Ryan looked a bit like Ron Jeremy. He played a few games in the top flight, I remember him scoring in a 5-0 win against Leicester in which Varadi got a hat trick. Lineker played for them and didn't get a sniff.

Gary Shaw played in a couple of reserve games as a triallist, never the first team.

Gary Shaw, great call.

Leroy Chambers.

David Tomlinson and Kenny Brannigan both made their one and only appearance in an inury ravaged side that got thrashed at Leicester, mid 80s

I can remember seeing him play against MK Dons at the National Hockey Stadium. I have no idea how or why I recall this.

I went to that game lost 6-1.  I remember Kenny Brannigan being awful in defence (centre half i think) but have no memory of David Tomlinson at all.

David Reeves, as mentioned before, was so unmemorable that he was called 'Darrell' on the 1988/89 Season Review video when he scores against Norwich. Also in that game, an own-goal by Andy f*cking Linighan. I think I laughed at this too much at the time and created some bad karma.

Right, apparently we had a player called Steven Brown in 1993/94, and I have absolutely no recollection of him whatsoever. Did he win a competition or something?

Didn't they auction off a squad number for a few years at around that time so he could have his name on the back of the programme and stuff?

Some I'd nearly forgotten and one or two I might have made up.

John Ryan right back played against somebody in a cup game in 80's maybe Oldham unless he is a figment often imagination.

Gary Shaw played a couple of games.

Greg Fee, Tony Gregory, Des Hazell, Jim Craig, David Reeves, Craig Shakespeare,Scott Oakes all fairly uninspiring in the grand scheme.
