Need an experienced midfielder!

Recommended Posts

I've said it before, this situation seems very similar to previous ones down scrapping down the bottom of the Championship. What saved us in two of those instances was Graham Kavanagh and Steve Watson.

Both came in and made a big impact, galvanised the whole team and provided that leadership and experience in midfield that we desperately needed. Someone to get their foot in and add a bit of quality too.

It seems along with a striker we need another player of this ilk now, whether its to play in a 2 or 3 in midfield. Barkley did nothing today and he could definately use an experienced head beside him to help and encourage him through the game. Our team's too young!

Can only think of Greening, Southern as experienced players who aren't playing and might be available, but there must be others out there.

Agree, and it's annoying, but surely it's done and it's what we do now that counts

Does everyone think by adding the odd player will resolve the issues at Hillsborough. It goes a lot deeper than that. We have possivbly the best teenager in Barklay playing for us, one of the best Scottish young un in McCabe, potentially a premier league match winner in Bothroyd, an ex premier league goalie and centre half and folk think its down to the standard of player we don't have, oh nearly forgot, a proven manager at this level. Load of gash, this is a attitude problem which is effecting most of the players. The moral and winning mentality as been dragged away from this club for whatever reason. Once that as been addressed and resolved, then we can look at improving the league position.

There are other issues but you only have to look at our strikers for instance to see what we're up against Not many of our rivals would trade their strikers for ours. Because strikers play such a big part in a clubs fortunes it is reasonable to expect bringing a decent striker will help us climb the table.

We aren't willing to spend the required moolah to get the players to make a difference.

We need a whole new spine to the team of players with the required experience, balls and quality.

We won't get it.

We will be in League One next season.

Crap transfer policy from both board and management.

They had some quality midfielders on their bench today. Lansbury or Mcgugan would add drive and strength to our midfield. Neither can be happy at not playing. We could do worse than trying to get one of these on loan. Is lansbury still an arsenal player?
