Irvine crying on Praise Or Grumble...

Recommended Posts

Really? Blimey.

Just underlines how unnecessary some of the personal abuse was. I've been as critical as anyone of his management, but I refuse to use some of the terms that have been all too freely thrown at him on this site. He's still a human being with feelings and aspirations and I have no doubt that he's working hard at being a success.

The best thing for all concerned would be for him to get things right and see us surge up the table, but sadly there is little evidence this will happen.

Was saying this the other day, I want him out as much as the next man (OK, possibly not as much as Jowl) but if/when he goes I'll feel sorry for him. He took us on when we were low, he must've known there'd be no money for new players so knew it wouldn't be any easy ride and stuff like the players celebrating with him (or whatever they did - I'm at work so no idea) and this interview, show that for all the moaning everyone does (most of it fully justified - Teale off the other night, Spurr at right back, WTF?) he is a human being and he's doing his best. Shame for him that we need more.

He did get emotional didn't he?

I am of the view that he should either be put out of his misery or told how many games he's got. It can do him (or us) no good thinking that his next defeat might be his last game.

Aye, and a 'do or die' type target might wake some of the players up too.

I like Irvine - he's a good bloke (very serious man though - and you wouldn't want to be on the wrong side of him)

I hate his dour football though - it's sheeeeeyite

let's be fair to the bloke, he's a human being after all...but i've been crying during the performances for quite a while now... :st2:
