I tried to see on what planet we could cover someone like Ronaldos wages with increased gates. It doesn't quite work... Say £200k per week, so £10m per year. To cover that in 26 home games we need to attract 15000 more per match than we do now, at an average of £25 for a ticket. And sell a few extra pies. Nice to dream though. So in his haste to lose a bit of weight, he lost a bit of girth on his neck. He found a bit of girth somewhere else though, when he heard he could sign for us.
