As someone who isn't the biggest fan of international football in general it actually makes some games worth watching, that's in general not just England.

Absolutely, I’m personally a fan of international football but I agree friendlies were always a bit pointless.  It’s much better to have games that mean something,  whether the current format is correct is another question.

It is a great achievement, last night’s result was too with a patchwork team, and like you say it puts us in a stronger position for then next qualifying campaign. Into the second seed pot meaning we will avoid some bigger guns and it gives us a guaranteed playoff if we don’t qualify through the groups. 
 

I’d rather have been in your spot and playing in the World Cup but with that gone I’m happy.
