You have to laugh at the fact that Varane and Ronaldo are now captained by Harry Maguire.

They're not a team, just a collection of random individuals thrown together with little thought about style of play.

The latest manager bloke is an advocate, some say originator, of the high press German style. How the hell are you meant to do that with Ronaldo leading the line?

They just make it up as they go along at Man U.

They should move Ronaldo onto the U.S, they’ve flogged the shirts now

Storming off again.

Berating his younger teammates throughout the match.

It's all about him and chalking up as many goals as possible.

Yeh he is literally designed to score as many goals as possible rather than what the team do

“chase the ball down? But I’ll get tired late in the game and won’t have as much chance of scoring”

Pretty confident that this latest experiment with Raganick will be a flop (relatively speaking) too.

Almost certain they've thought: "Ah, Chelsea and Liverpool are doing well with Germany coaches, they are very much in atm" and have gone and appointed one. Raganick does have a decent CV, but almost certain that those higher up will curtail his efforts to instigate any proper change.

Was the Soccer Saturday panel ever that good though?! Always struck me as the old blokes in the pub who have aggressive opinions and always think they’re spot on. Stelling is great and Merson has got more tolerable over the years. Le Tissier, Thompson etc are no great loss in my opinion.

The only pundits I actually like are Neville and Carragher. Both have their flaws but they genuinely offer strong insight and MNF is an enjoyable watch.

Neville and Carragher would be even better of they stopped the whole Man United v Liverpool thing. Its annoying and they try to force it constantly. They are 2 massive clubs but Sky should be focused on all clubs.

Still maintain it wouldn’t be that difficult to get them going. If they want to press they have Sancho, Rashford, Lingard, Greenwood, Bruno in attacking areas who have energy and pace to chase and press high.

The Ronaldo signing is a conundrum  - he’s scoring goals and doing what’s required of him. But the issue is he has to start every game because it’s Ronaldo. At his age he should be rotated with Cavani. Two top quality forwards but neither should be relied on week in week out at their age. But Ronaldo won’t be happy on the bench.

Defensively they aren’t a lost cause. Maguire and Shaw however have been awful this season - they were very good last year. Two key defenders horrendously out of form which is killing them. Varane is a class defender if he can get fit and start playing regularly, no reason why he can’t. AWB is solid but if Ragnick wants to play with wing backs he’s not the answer. They need a new RB in January.

Central midfield is the big issue. I think they need to cut ties with Pogba - hugely talented but just not going to click at Utd. Fred and McTominay not good enough. Need a proper world class holding midfielder in there like the top teams in the league do - see Kante, Jorginho, Fabinho, Rodri.

Compare Rashford, Lingard, Greenwood and Sancho with any of the top 3’s attacking line up. It’s like night and day

Rashford, Sancho and Lingard should be playing for an Everton, Greenwood could come good but they’ll probably ruin him.

Capable of good moments occasionally, but will never have the consistency needed

Combine that with the awful McFred in CM, and their average wing backs in Dalot & AWB, and the awful Harry Maguire.

6th - 10th is their rightful position

That club needs to wake up and realise they aren’t the boss anymore. So far behind Liverpool, City it’s almost laughable.

I reckon we play better football than United

Yes, in theory, those players should be able to press, but any press is undermined by a 37-year-old who doesn't like pressing and never has done.

Pretty much. At least Cavani is a team player though. With Ronaldo, it's all about him imo.

Keeper is the saving grace atm. Varane is class, agreed. Think there are big question marks over the rest of them. They need a more dynamic right back than AWB. Maguire and Shaw...too prone to going off the boil and losing the plot when things get difficult. Think you need to be better than that to play for a successful Man U side.

Need a massive rethink in that area. Pogba is a waste of space. A McTominay might be ok as a squad player to bring in every now and then, but you need proper upgrades on him and the hapless Fred.
