Denmark were better for 30 minutes out of 120 played. We were better for the rest of it. Not sure how anyone can argue our win was anything but deserved to be honest. In the final 15 minutes, Denmark managed one shot and one corner. In a European semi-final where they had to score. I've gone from Spain 1982 and Keegan missing the header Mexico 86 and Maradona. What a tournament that was, still my favourite. Then it's Italia '90 and that semi final- first time I'm watching that kind of thing with mates as a young man with beers . Then the years slip by, terrible Euros, Van Basten hatricks, Euro 96 which seems a blink away to me, more tournaments blurring into one ..daft game changing red cards, dodgy goals scored against, legitimate goals ruled out, penalty shoot outs more than I can remember - all watched with the same mates I watched Italia 90 with. We've gone from lads in our early to mid 20's, to 'mature' men in our early to mid fifties, having never seen England in a tournament final.
