topbrewer
Good evening people, not been on here for a while. Just wondering if some of you elder chaps can cast your mind back to the late 60’s early 70’s. Does anyone recall a goalkeeper called John Crossland playing for the Owls either 1st team or reserves? Cheers in advance
Guest Theboylangers
I'm sure some of our resident experts will know. Unfortunately I can't help, never heard of him.

Me neither Mal, a friend of a friend is a relative and he asked me to see if I’d heard of him at any level. Thought this would be the best place to ask. gurujuan
Peter Wicks was our reserve keeper around that time. There is a squad picture from this period, with about 40 players on it, including 2 youth team keepers None of them your man though

Nut
First keepers I can remember are Peter Springett and Peter Grummit. Early 70s.

Ron Springett’s stand in was Rory McClaren I think. Only saw him play once cos Ron was pretty much ever present even though he trained with QPR (& England). His brother Peter replaced him mid/late 60’s
gurujuan
Think there was a third choice, behind Springett and Wicks, called Gary Scothorn, or something like that

I do remember when we swapped Ron for Peter with QPR. Both of them were just about playing every game for us and I'm not 100% certain, but didn't we sign Grummet from Florest to replace Pete ? Also remember Wicks.
