An imperial ton was always called ton, but when I was working in heavy industry and we went metric, we called a 1,000 kg a tonne to avoid confusion. A manager waving his arms around doesn't mean he's motivating the players or a better manager than a calmer personality. Obviously. However it would be nice to see him show some emotion or to actually move, especially when we keep trying to play it out from the back with disastrous results. I would settle for a twitch of the top lip to be honest but there's nothing.

What difference would it make to the result if he was to scrunch his face up, wave his arms around, beat the badge on his chest with his fist, do a roly poly and a cartwheel down the touchline and then turn to the fans and scream "I CAAAAAAAARE"? Quite a lot I would guess. It would get the crowd going for one. I've now got that image in my head with bullen clapping along. Any lifting equipment we used was normally rated by the ton ie 2 ton sling, 2 ton chain block etc.
