Carlos rushed Lee back despite our physios saying he wasn't ready. They got him back fit at the managers request.

Overplaying Hutchinson in the first season has now buggered him for good.

Is this true? Are there any direct quotes from the physio's?

When we signed Lee from Oldham I seem to remember he was out with a hip injury, I wonder if he has suffered from the same injury before he signed for us?

There was no drama with Hutchinson when he was in form playing week in week out ... to suggest then that Carlos rested him so as not to ‘bugger’ Him ?   There would have been uproar

and i would also add as much as I like sam I don’t think having him playing now would make any difference at all to our results, he’s effective yes ... but for me wouldn’t get the team playing as a Collective which is what needs to happen , and no he’s not a centre half

Thank goodness for the new medical team we have. The clubs injury record is so much better now.

Indeed, and how much has it cost the club to sack an entire medical team and hire CCs old pals from Portugal. It's simply ridiculous and someone is having DCs pants down.

Sorry i don’t think I agree with this overplaying business, he’s a professional footballer he’s either fit enough to be one or he isn’t

plain and simple sorry, these lads get paid a phenomenal amount of money

Hutch had to retire. He's shouldn't play too many games in a season. He was playing Saturday/Tuesday at some point. His body isn't capable of it. Of course Hutch isnt going to turn around and say he's not fit enough, it's in his character to want to play every game.

He should have been managed a lot better.

Some good people and die hard Wednesdayites were thrown under the bus and replaced by a medical team who has made no improvements to our injury situation.

Yes Paul Smith said so on Twitter.

Wednesday midfielder Kieran Lee is set to see a specialist again as he continues to struggle with a hip problem

Lee was one of nine senior players who missed Friday’s defeat to Championship leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers due to injury.

The 29-year-old has been hampered by his troublesome hip throughout the season, making just 10 starts and five substitute appearances.

It will be the second time Lee, an integral figure in the Owls reaching back-to-back play-offs, has visited a specialist in the space of five months regarding the injury.

Goalkeeper Keiren Westwood and midfielder Barry Bannan (both groin) will also be assessed this week.

“We will see what happens over the next few days,” said head coach Carlos Carvalhal. “We will have some scans, and maybe they will be okay. Let’s see.”

Westwood and Bannan were pencilled to start against Wolves but were forced to withdraw because of their injuries.

Carvalhal said: “We prepared the team with Barry on Thursday. He was inside, he did everything and was going to play. But at the last moment of training, he jumped and felt a very strong. He was very bad at that moment and the physios took care of him.

“After one or two hours, he was better and we felt he would probably recover to play on Friday. But when he woke up on Friday, he felt very bad again so he couldn’t play.

“Westwood was also down to play. But after the warm up, he said he felt pain in the groin and that he couldn’t kick the ball.”

Wednesday, who have not won since November 4, remain 10 points adrift of the play-off positions after the weekend’s fixtures.

Hopefully this time they will actually send him to a specialist as this could be his third operation in less than 12 months I am starting to question whether this guy is a specialist or not.

Managing injuries and recovery is a key skill in football. This involves protecting players and knowing when a player can be risked and when he can not. Most top coaches usually have a fitness specialist who they rely on for this type of help. If you look at pep Guardiola one of 3 individuals he takes with him everywhere is a fitness/training/recovery specialist. Last season we were desperateto get into play offs and decisions were made on FF and KL to keep one playing and bring back the other early. both have back fired spectacularly in KL has not recovered properly from operation and FF had to go and have surgery he should have had last season. SH was also missing at end of last season and not sure if a gamble was made with him too. We have made short term decisions with regard players in last 2.5 years, in we have signed players towards end of careers with no long term sell on value to try and have ready made promotion team. Now this has failed it has left club with real problem in we have an aging squad which in itself always brings more injury problems. Also the message being put out about how players are looked after re injuries will not encourgae many players to want to join club.

  • Poster starts getting angry about the rumour

Or another lie from Carlos.

He rushed Lee back towards the end of season because he made a right balls up of our promotion push. Looked destined for 10th place until he got Lee and Hooper back playing.

Terrible management and now Lee is suffering in the long run.

That's not quite true.

If memory serves me correct Lee only came in towards the very, very end of that 6 game winning run.

Pretty sure our midfield during that period was Bannan, Jones, Wallace and Reach.

Needless to say, I fear we have rushed Lee back on one or two occasions and both he and us are now paying the consequences.

Thing is...anyone who has seen him play recently could tell you that something wasn't quite right.

He came on against Ipswich and looked absolutely knackered.

For a play who is constantly on the move, I fear the worst with this hip issue.

Stand corrected.

Just looked at Lee came in for the last two games against Derby and Ipswich. We'd won 4 in a row prior to that.

Regardless we unnecessarily rushed him back for the Play Offs as requested by the manager. Not a rumour. A fact. Not here to prove anything to people.

Perhaps if CC had faith in the centre midfield pairing that had won 4 on the bounce prior to that, Lee would not know be out for the season.

He's done for.

Lee won't play again this season.
