40 goals in a season and he's come through our academy. Even the daily rags say he's one of the top prospects in the country.

But he only gets talked about cos he's a hirst. Any other name and no one would give a flying bobbar.

$1 MILLION THOUGH :tango:

LEICESTER THOUGH :duntmatter:

Make it $10 million with 20% of any sell on fee and we get first choice if they want to loan him out. That wouldn't be bad with only a year left on contract. I wouldn't want to trust it to a tribunal.

Is that why Leicester have bid £1M and Everton are also rumoured to be sniffing? :columbo:

By us I mean. He's worth a punt for teams of course as always.

There would be no clamour for him to start games or play if he wasn't the son of David that's for sure, regardless of how many he has scored.

If he doesn't want to wait too long going to a Premiership club could be a mistake. If he's not ready for the Championship he won't be ready for the Premiership. All a top club would do is loan him to a lower league club to get experience, we can do that.

In a Premiership club he would be one among many very talented youngsters, here he's got 30,000 Wednesday fans looking out for him because of his family history. At Man U he'd just be another talented kid who might or might not make it.

He would be well advised to stick around for a bit longer, if he breaks through in the next couple of years he can pick up a mega money deal to a top club if we haven't progressed enough to keep him.

Loan him out to a lower league club until Christmas, if he does well we can loan him out to a better standard of club or bring him back and play him ourselves.

He can be farmed out on loan just as easily from a prem club, and earn more money in the process. He's 8th choice striker here. His path is blocked, and I can't see Carlos clearing the decks for him because we're striving for promotion. Daddy Snr will also be in his lug-hole throughout. Would be nice if he stays, but our record with youth in recent times is crap. Hirst might look at the injuries Betra sustained, and realise that could be him anytime. Opportunities must be seized in this game.

The club will know if Hirst is interested in signing an extension or not. If he is then great, meet his demands and tie him down. If he's not committed then sell him but ensure there are the Kyle Walker-esque add ons in place. I'd take 2m now and 25% sell on.

Its not like hes scoring regularly in the first team. It's all about fulfilling potential. He needs to develop physically and also be mentally strong enough to handle pressure of first team football. There's no guarantee that he will do that. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Is it fair? Of course not, but we risk losing him for a lot less nearer the end of his contract.

He's going to fall in to the trap of so many others where £££ are concerned.

Just because the kids he's played with this year are in 10k didn't make him worth that, especially not to us. If he thinks he can get it then you can't really blame him, his dad should stay out of it though as he has reps.

We shouldn't be paying him anymore than 2k a week, he's a long way to go yet

If he goes he goes, that's the way of football today

You're crazy, why pay 5 figures to an 18 year old as a championship club?

Agree......we are SWFC...........not BBC.......we could get a retired Prem player to do the announcements & half time/full time scores for £1.8m...........A MAN OF COURSE

The biggest thing for him is he needs to start playing. He isn't good enough for our bench at the moment so it would have to be a loan to league 1 or 2.

Cant  blame him for wanting to go to a prem club on 10x the money we would offer. Especially given who his dad is. It's a short career...

Best thing we can do is get him loaned out to increase his value for a tribunal or if he has a change of mind and extends his contract here. We still have no idea if games will increase his value though. He could be crap playing against men.
