I think personally we are in a fantastic position for a good push for automatic promotion next season......

i think we have a settled squad, with quality , squad morale and experience.....

There are not many teams, in the same bracket as us as big changes are going on with a lot of last years contenders and the teams relegated from the premier league

Sunderland - In turmoil, squad full of deadwood , big wages average players

Hull - See above, already lost their best players from last season

Norwich - New manager, few signings, could go either way

Boro - I feel our main auto promotion rivals

Leeds - unknown managed, feel they don't have the depth to replicate last year

Aston Villa - Excellent squad on paper, if they click they will be top 2, but it's not as easy as that

Derby - Just don't get their hype, nothing special

Fulham - Think the media over egged them towards the back end of the season, not all that

Dark Horses - Brum, Wolves

We have to take advantage this year, get off to a fast start, I may be optimistic, but this is the year we have to take full advantage and get promotion.

We have a great squad on paper, a solid manager who I feel will take off the shackles, the best chairman we've had in the modern era who spends money ......few more astute signings and we must be close

and most important of all, the fans who follow us in our thousands home and away, through the bad and the good, we are always there and in some cases we can be the difference.

This is the year!!!

Got to stop playing tiki-taka football passing sideways and backwards and getting nowhere. They need to get the ball forward a lot quicker and be more direct. I want to see the Carlos of old otherwise we will be stuck where we are. Had we played the football of his first season last season, I believe we'd be a Premier League club.

He'll be the most under pressure manager in the Championship next season. I'm really hoping for better, otherwise he will be gone before Christmas. It's difficult for me to have any sort of faith.

If we're not ready for the opening game, Carlos will be held accountable and fans will get on his back.

NO,the bit where you "stated" he's going to be a very successful manager, one season, one god dammed season is all he's had,so with respect, its guesswork dressed as fact

Are you forgetting the fact that Carlos has only had two seasons, two god damn seasons is all he's had as a successful manager and even then was backed with the best part of £35 million to spend?

Heckingbottom would have been a fantastic shout if we'd have been replacing Carlos.

Under pressure from who? A few moaning trumpers on the north, a handful of stoned chavs as away games, you and a few miserable sods on here? People really do overestimate their influence.

I think the reason we were slighty more cautious last season is because we didn't improve the defence in the way Carlos wanted to.

We have the Chairman, the players and the supporters for a serious top 2 attempt this year.

All we need now is a manager who can get the best out of the players we have, make teams fear us and not the other way round, stop shoehorning players into the team and never ever ever under no circumstance change a winning formula.

Over to you Carlos.

Nice comeback......not,Carvalhal has YEARS of managerial experience on Heckinbottom (thats the point),in two seasons we have been in the playoffs, heckinbottom hasn't,but you and the any bugger but carvalhal mob want a manager who's done feck all to replace a guy who's done better than him.................reyt !

who gave reading and Huddersfield a chance last season? there will be a surprise package as always, just hope it is not the pigs

Not to blow my own trumpet, but I actually called Huddersfield making the playoffs before the start of last season (I believe there's a thread on here somewhere).

Anyway it's far too early to make any meaningful predictions. Still 5 weeks til kick-off, there'll no doubt be plenty of transfer activity involved at all clubs. We'll have a better idea of where teams stand at the start of next month.

There is always a side that springs a surprise. Leeds, Reading and Udders all surprised me last season, perhaps add Fulham to that list too.

I'll call top 6 as:

Boro

Norwich

Wednesday

Villa

Reading

Derby

In my opinion Brentford might be the surprise/dark horse. Seem to have held onto decent players, recruited smartly the past couple of seasons, I could see them being in or around the top 6.

I wouldn't  write Birmingham off, under Arry  the could be dangerous this year.

Also there is usually a surprise package and I could see that been Brentford if the can keep hold of there key players.

I definitely see it being a harder league than last year, having said that it's definitely  more open as there isn't a clear favorite like Newcastle or Brighton.
