If you have your laptop with the HDMI lead plugged into the correct slot then plugged into the correct slot on TV it's just a matter of changing the source on the tv to HDMI 1 or 2 etc... Video is just a black screen with control menu at the bottom which doesn't activate no matter how many times I bash the keypad!! Any ideas people?
