GMOwl72
Why is it taken for granted that he would be a fantastic coach?

bigdan2003
Semedo would be given a contract because he's clearly a good influence around the dressing room. That's it.

Thats not a reason to give him a contract. Are people at work hired/retained on this basis? The money should be used towards getting the right players in who will help us get promoted. I'd keep Semedo if his presence is an integral part of the team. His wages is a drop in the ocean and doesn't mean we won't be spending on someone better......albeit we already have better. Pointless comparing to "work".

I think this gets somewhat overplayed, especially on here. He is only 32 and still has a lot to offer in the pitch to a L1/lower champ side - a much better use of his abilities As for your last point, do you run a business? That's it. Maybe if Rotherham had employed the Chuckle Brothers on contracts they would have stayed up based on this way of thinking. Jose has to move on if he himself has any ambition to play regularly over the last year or two of his career.

Gresh
Love the guy but time to move him on and let him finish out his career with another club. In the future would love him back in a coaching capacity.
cookieowl
Was I seeing things last night? He was in real madrid kit holding the champions league trophy with Ronaldo. Or maybe I'd drank too much

Apparently Real Madrid had him with the squad before the game - he helped boost their morale
Lee A
All this stuff about him being good to have around the dressing room and good for morale, what exactly is he doing? Balloon animals? Karaoke? Free blowies? Being a nice bloke is no justification for a wage and more importantly, a place on the bench that could go to somebody who's actually good enough to play. Glorified cheerleader who should have left 2 or 3 years ago, go and play football whilst you still can.

He served a purpose on the pitch also and been of more benefit there than some of our other squad players.
