Such a difficult decision! I think I'd go for:

                                 Westwood

Hunt               Lees                   Loovens        Pudil

                      Hutch                   Bannan

            Lee                  Abdi            Forestieri

                                 Fletcher

Bench: Wildsmith, Palmer, Sasso, Lee, Reach, Matias, Hooper

- I think we're much more calm and composed with Loovens at the back, and he just seems to control the back four better.

- Even though Hutch is excelling at CB, I think we miss his presence in the middle, protecting the back four. With Bannan alongside to pick up the tackles Hutch wins.

- This allows Abdi to play a more central role and Fessi to still come in off the left, where he got most of his goals from last year

This does mean though that we don't have any wide players on the pitch. Reach, Matias, Wallace & Buckley all miss out, and there Is also no room for Hooper or Jones.

Great problems to have though!

Ff will go up top in a 442 with fletch.

Abdi will play on the RM but only really when defending as when were attacking he will be able to drift inside alot and play the "forestieri role' but at RM instead of the left? With reach being a direct winger providing the width.

Thats what i thi k carlos will think. Who knows, might work might now! Hope it does!

You can only look as far as the next game, with Jones suspended, I'd be delighted to see this starting 11:

         Westwood

Palmer Lees Hutch Pudil

Buckley Abdi Lee Reach

            FF

              Fletcher

Pace down the flanks and protection for full backs.  Abdi and FF playing between the lines.  Surely have too much for Wogan.

That is the side I would pick. Fletcher, Hooper and Joao to rotate based on performances.

I think the squad is set up nicely for that formation too.

No such thing as a first eleven these days, you rotate to pick a fresh team and to take account of particular opponents.

I'd basically say that the following will always start when fit - Westwood, Lees, Lee, Bannan, Fessi - and the other 6 on a horse of courses basis.

100% agree with your first sentence. I think though that Lee and Bannan's places for instance could be threatened by Jones, Abdi and on occasions going forward, by Hutch. This is  very healthy in my opinion, there will be dips in form, fatigue and tactical decisions that dictate this. Fans should get used to some of their favourite, previously undroppable (on the face of it) players sitting it out at times.
