GAYLE LATEST

Crystal Palace have yet to receive any bids for striker Dwight Gayle despite reports linking with a move away.

Here’s Andy Burton’s latest update: â€œLate last night I was told there were no bids for Gayle, and there was no change in that situation today. No clubs had come in for him despite talk of a £7m move away, but at the moment nothing's happening.”

Cheaper than Rhodes and McCormack.....

Cardiff City transfer deadline day news: What they need, who's coming and who could be shock departures. Who could be going?

Russell Slade will be hoping it is his more fringey players. After losing Mason, the Cardiff boss will want to hold onto what he has, but with Cardiff’s current financial situation, big money offers for their stars could be tempting. Goalkeeper David Marshall is constantly linked with a move away, but links with Everton early in the window proved false. Norwich could return for long-time target Craig Noone who is back in form. Most likely to depart are more unused players, with misfit striker Alex Revell looking certain to go out on loan once more.

MIDDAY RUSH FOR PL CLUBS

Clubs face a midday rush to get their Deadline Day business done if they want new recruits to be available for Tuesday night's Premier League fixtures.

New registrations of players have to be completed by midday the day before a round of matches, and with eight Premier League games taking place on Tuesday night, some clubs may be rushing to get their deals done.

That could mean a busier morning than usual for a Deadline Day, as clubs look to get their deals done early to make sure new signings can make their match day squad.

The transfer window in England shuts at 11pm on Monday evening.

Is that mid-day rule, the same for the Football League too?
