@owlstalk
Sheffield Wednesday's recent takeover has prompted speculation the club could be ready to make a major transfer move, with The Star claiming Jordan Rhodes is an option at £12 million. Blackburn Rovers boss Gary Bowyer has dismissed speculation the striker is not going out on loan, another suggestion touted, telling the BBC that they had no intention of letting the Scottish international depart. For Sheffield Wednesday, there is another striker they could look to try and sign who would in all likelihood come cheaper, and has already had a prolific spell at the club. http://hereisthecity.com/en-gb/2015/03/11/forget-rhodes-the-striker-sheffield-wednesday-must-sign-is-fan-f/ We fundamentally disagree - we think we should go for both and have Wickham/Rhodes up front as the partnership Owlstalk Shop
SiJ
Isn't Connor Wickham on 60k a week at Sunderland? Be a fantastic way of destroying out new found financial security.

oh_weds_we_love_you
Just like United/Brayford, I would question any player who drops down a playing level despite being a first team player at the level above.
Paddyowl
If I could choose I'd rather have Wickham over Rhodes, just my opinion.

F. Spiksley
What would their combined wages be? £100k per week. Sod that, just go straight for the jugular and sign Charlie Austin from QPR. He'll be in the Championship either way next sason.

BobsMagicCalculator
Yeah, not a chance of signing Wickham due to wages, only slim chance would be a season long loan if Sunderland didn't see him in their plans. He's on 60k a week so would imagine they would want at least half his wages on any loan deal, seems out of our ball park now even with the new owners. BIG D
Just like United/Brayford, I would question any player who drops down a playing level despite being a first team player at the level above. A long time ago but Terry Curran dropped down 2 leagues.
Owls_fan_since_1983
I would still go for three or four players if we have a got good transfer budget. Wickham could get injured as well.
