That is because JTO is an obsessive who makes post after post about nuhiu. We have all made our point about him yet the same posters boorishly carry on expounding their drivel.

Just because someone writes an essay, it doesn't make their post any more relevant or remotely worth replying to.

Nuhiu can't run, yet he sprinted past a defender and put in a cracking cross against Forest...

In the same respect that Gary Teale, Chris Sedgwick and James O'Connor have ran past people before. Doesn't mean they can run either.

Compare him to every other clubs best player jon..then you name best 6 offa the top of your head?

The 6 I listed are top six currently - what we should be aiming for, no?

So therefore it's perfectly agreeable for me to specifically highlight these particular positions because they directly involve us - and not teams with different aspirations this season.

As it goes, I thought only three teams had retrospective 'best' strikers that were worse than Nuhiu were the ones I listed.

Having read jto's thread I think there are some valid point but there are two reasons why I think we have to stick with and support Nuhiu. 1 I think on all points you are being overly critical (oppinion I know) and 2, we had the 4th lowest budget in the league when we got him for free and he did a job for us didn't he? He still is. I see him as a stop gap, a handfull, something different. We will probably sell him for profit in a year or two when (hopefully) we are pushing for the top and replace him with better. But for where we are right now he's fine.

Its pointless comparing him to what "others" have got...We have what we have...

I mean..lets compare every bugger in every position..sure we could all come up with a side that would walk the Championship..Win the Prem and dry rape the Champions league..its a Fantasy football strategy that bears no resemblance to reality.

Nuhiu has probably been our best player this seaso  so far...there may be some argue against this..but he has not been far off it..he hasn't had a poor game...So you swap him for what at the minute?

Its pointless pulling names out of a hat..cos its not feasible...name some foo ker in the squad, at the moment, thats worth dropping Nuhiu for..there isn't one

Having read bits and pieces of JTO's thread (I just need to finish flicking through War and Peace as a holiday read first), there seems to be some good points, followed by absolute garbage that ruins it. Case in point: We all know Nuhiu is slow and his poor heading (in the box, outside of it it's excellent, I think it's a psychological thing) can leave us toothless from the wings (though let's see if that is still the case with Drenthe, who can hopefully swing a cross in that sometimes manages to a) beat the first man and b) not go sailing over everybody's heads for a goal kick).

However you then write that Nuhiu has poor concentration and gives the ball away too often. I'm sorry what? Nuhiu links up brilliantly with those around him, with a combination of little lay-offs to those steaming in ahead of him, and balls for May to run onto. Now unless you're arguing that because some of these balls for May to run onto don't always come off (and that doesn't really work because at this level at least half of those passes don't come off no matter who is the supplier) I just can't see where Nuhiu gives the ball away. Even if he ends up running into a blind alley he has an amazing knack of emerging from it with the ball, which is basically down to determination and persistence. However you argue that Madine "very rarely" loses the ball. Now I remember from Saturday, the very first time Madine touched the ball we were in a very promising position on the edge of the box, only for Madine to run into a blind alley and dither with the ball until Mancienne took the ball off him and started a break for Forest.

You also call him an "average" championship striker, despite the fact you write him off as considerably worse than two different strikers who have played less than 10 games combined in the championship this year, including one who was plying his trade at Halifax Town last year, who have you probably seen play once, perhaps more if you ever attended The Shay. It's these sort of sweeping statements that derail you Jon. None of us are arguing he's the best striker in the championship, we're arguing that he's nowhere near as bad as those who slag him off say he is.

Please can this be thread over and done with? Please?
