KivoOwl
Kirkland 6 (couldn't really see if he could have stopped the goal) Buxton 8 (white Cafu) Llera 7 (desire for the goal was immense) Gardner 8 (class act) Jones 7 (best game I've ever seen him have) Antonio 8 (ran em ragged) Barkley 8 (keeps on impressing) Semedo 9 (back to his brilliant best. Immense) McCabe 7 (nothing special, apart from one through ball for Antonio ) Bothroyd 7 (quality there but was a bit off, and tired badly) O.Grady 8 (beast again) Madine 7 (much better, put himself about) Overall a sluggish performance, but a win's a win, so who cares? @owlstalk
Madine was a 10 Antonio was poor again (finishing REALLY needs work - he's missing crucial chances in a 4-5-1 formation - can't do that) Daniel Jones was great going forward - put in some really dangerous crosses Owlstalk Shop
DobbinTheDonkey
Gardner and Semedo gave us a spine down that middle. Semedo is our insurance policy and very rarely gets drawn out of his central position any more, he has learned very quickly. The goal we conceded was sloppy, Antoniowas in the spot but was told to move further out, as I think he should, but no-one went into that spot. The midfield did try to break from deep in the second half and it worked a lot better. The crowd while subdued must be credited for not turning against the team after such a laboured first half, well done fellow Wednesdayites for standing firm, although we might have asleep. Guest Old Salt
Semedo, Buxton, Antonio (second half) were good. Madine quite good when he came on. COG and Bothroyd were crap. COG only gets forward for set peices he's that slow. Bothroyd didn't leave a ten square metre area all game but looked tidy when the ball came into his 'zone'. MoM semedo. Plonk
We are two players short of being a really good side. Reda back at left back and a quality striker. The rest of the sides starting to pick itself

Lawrie Madden
Kirkland 6 Nothing to do really no chance with the goal Buxton 7 LLera 7 Gardner 7 Jones 7 Antonio 7 Semedo 8.5 MoM Barkley 8 Corry 6 did nothing wrong wasn't on long enough Bothroyd 6 Was mediocre and not in the game enough CoG 6 service wasn't the best but put his usual shift in McCabe 6.5 looked assured in 1st game back Madine 6.5 made a couple of stellar runs that were totally ignored by our midfield jj Wasnt on long enough. Beholder
Gog a beast? Dunno where you get that from, he was poor today. Still not sure about this formation at home. I would like to see 2 strikers. Midfield was good. Bothroyd an off day. Defense were very good. They had no chances.
