manicowl
He played out of his skin tonight, and I know it sounds a bit cynical, but there ARE a couple of weeks of the transfer window left. Thoughts?

H2Owl
Keep him.....all day long Passionate....committed,,,,puts himself about and wants to be here Summed it up perfectly. Looked so much better than Harewood in pre-season and seems to have carried this through.
Lincowl
Jones needs to stop shunning him. Should never have been dropped for mediocre temporary squad members like Ranger and Harewood. Edited August 13, 2012 by Lincowl
mark77
He's the best at the club leading the line, holds the ball up brilliantly. His problem is he doesn't score enough so tonight is a big positive for him.
JoshTheOwl
You could argue a bit of both. Obviously if hes wanting to cement a place in our team the performance will have done him a world of good as well as if he's going to leave that performance may increase his transfer fee. Guest foreverSWFC
Unplayable tonight. Just find his shooting boots more often and we have a really dangerous striker on our hands. Hope he stays, be very very disappointed if he went.
dan27
Good strong player who can also hold the ball up well. Seems to be a model pro too.
Guest WoodhouseOwl77
The fact Harewood was sent on his way suggests Jones wants Chris O'Grady! Defo keep him will start on Saturday!
Guest wilyfox
certainly can't ask for more from him than he gave tonight; great start to the season for Chrissy.
Lincowl
To answer the silly question, nothing to prove. Despite the hysteria he was one of our best performers last season.
Bluesteel
Plenty to prove, in terms of staying with us in the Championship. He cost us the best part of £400k so we would want that back in any case. He's a good option to bring on when teams take the heavy handed approach, because when COG gets involved they wish they hadnt bothered. He can be a good squad player, I was impressed with that header, guided it in just like the one vs United. Wont get lots of goals, but will get his share. I'd hate to give him to Barnsley only for him to start scoring for them. Edited August 13, 2012 by Bluesteel
McRightSide
Neither. Typical COG performance, just with a couple of goals added to it. Bit like Scunny away last year. Gutted he didn't get the perfect hat-trick, would have been a great start to the season for him.
whatdial
COG has been doing it in the friendlies too.
JustAnotherOwl
Earnt a start against Derby at the very least, on form, be a waste not to start him.
Guest TonyOwl88
Cog goals may noth ave been free flowing but look at some of the ones he does have... goal against the blunts at bumole lane to get us back into a game we should have been winning. West Ham in the cup... Premiership bound of course... Winner against the blunts at Hillsborough. The guy has something... even out on the wing he seemed to offer a solid presence. He's scored goals in pre-season, and 2 today. I don't think he's looking to leave, because this club is so far above and beyond any other that he has played for. The shirt is his now... enigmamedusa
I think COG has always been this way. Under Megson he was asked to play a certain way i.e. get the ball blasted at him at 100mph anf wait four days for others to arrive in support. He done the job reasonably well, which is why Megson kept on picking him. Under a passing side he'll be more involved and more in the goals. KivoOwl
Not a first choice player - but offers us something different. A bit like Pecnik.
Benjani
He's on fire in front of goal since preseason started. Deserves his start on Saturday, his strength could form a good partnership with Maguire who is more pacey. Jones clearly likes him though.
BRADDAZ
Definitely just grabbed the shirt for Derby. He was superb tonight and I don't think he will be going anywhere. Edited August 13, 2012 by BRADDAZ
