Weshallovercome
Considering that Adams has just said that they currently have a wage bill of £12million i am pretty sure a few players are gonna be leaving....... With a £12m wage bill they'll have lost another fortune this season.......and will again next if most of the high earners aren't out of contract. Well run club? ooh Gary's given the list of 6 players he wants to Milan already........I'm actually looking forwards to pre-season for once. scram
I remember when more than a few Wednesday fans said they would love to have a chairman like McBaby - it was pretty clear early on that he was treating them just as another commodity - just like an hotel for eg and had no particular love for the club - it was emperors new clothes and the actions didn't match the rhetoric - and lets face it he struck l,ucky on the back of the best manager outside the premier - probably ever - and he rode the success like a kid on a carousel - but nehind the big grin were flashing pound signs He fell for the myth of trying to get publiciity in China and how they would sell xbillion replica shirts etc etc - the link in Hungary and so on - it was a case of expanding a mercantile empire and not one of creating a strong and vibrant viable club He never nurtured them and nourished them - he has done a fraction for that club as a supposed Blade that a neutral Russian guy has done for Chelsea - he has cut them adrift and left them washing up on the rocks with the ebb and flow of an unpredictable tide. A vindictive act in sacking Colin as revevnge for them getting relegated - wonder how that z lister who stormed in Colins office is feeling today? It's not noce being relegated from the premier granted.....but relegation to the "lower leagues"??? Well, that's a whole different ball game... Mr. Chow
So United fans think they need to keep the squad together and one bloke says they should sign Mackail-Smith, talk about burying their heads. I said that we should keep our team together this time last season if possible but in the end too many of them were too used to losing. I think if United keep Morgan, Montgomery, Quinn, Henderson, Slew I think thats a solid spine. But if their finances are as shot as I think they are I cant see the high earners staying. they wont keep Henderson all blunts are telling me that hes on around 17k a week easy. We have a football-lover running our club, an individual who genuinely adores the sport in its purest form yet can recognise what's known as a long-term project "Them lot" have a man running the club who believes in chasing money like a pissed-up bloke in a casino who's down £180 from a poo poo Roulette run. Who has previously apportioned blame to their failings like a man shouting at clouds because his wife has got a new lover. That will cripple them further, their short-termism will come close to killing them. I take no pleasure from that because of their irrelevance and near-certain doom. Ah well... You have to put that in the context of who we had in charge at the time tbf. Good analysis of McBains leadership though.
the third man
Their problem is all the high earners are not out of contract, and they will get no where the wages they are on at the moment with a new club. So either they leave without a fee so that they can get a massive signing on fee or they sit out the last season at the lane and bleed them dry
