trask43 Posted March 11, 2017 Share Posted March 11, 2017 He miscontrolled a simple ball then followed it by an absolutely brain dead lunge when there was no imminent danger and gave the ref the option, hes a prem ref and it would be a red every time in the prem. Its getting ridiculous how many mistakes sasso is making hes not even good enough for the bench, there must be better available on a free transfer somewhere, it would be a nightmare for him to play if we make the playoffs. Another massive opinion-splitter. I think Sasso has done really well. Couple of costly errors, agreed, but he's seen a LOT of the play in a pretty short space of time since stepping in rusty after a looooong spell on the bench. On the whole I think he's stepped up alright. Certainly don't see him as a frequent liability, few rough edges need smoothing out admittedly but he is good enough as backup for us IMO. As I've said before, the issue is we wouldn't be able to keep a significantly better player than him on as backup - next level up from him, you're looking at regular starting XI material or they just won't stay. Mind you, with the best will in the world Loovens can't go on forever, so we're gonna be looking at first XI CB purchases sooner rather than later anyway, you would've thought...
