Colchester Carlisle and brentford games all in a row are the ones that will decide that 2nd spot IMO

I looked at the fixtures this morning - 4 home games of our last 5 against teams in bottom half.

Nervous though

REALLY glad we are home last game of the season.

That could be the decider.

Who do you think has the hardest run in there? Huddersfield, Colchester, Carlisle and Brentford look tough to me, really tough. For the pigs, I'd say County, Hartlepool, MK and Stevenage are tough but I really don't rate MK.

Looking at that I'd say we are slightly worse off but hopefully I'm wrong.

IMHO the fixtures are starting to look easier.

Let the other teams worry about us for a change and how they are going to cope with our fast flowing passing game.

The home matches all look winnable. Its the away ones that slightly concern me, but Nott County was a big one before we beat them on saturday.

Still think its going to go to the last day.

However, as an omen lived in Wolverhampton at the time when Dave Jones's wolves side got promoted to the PL after beating the blades 3-0 in the playoff final, walked up to see the team parade though the city centre in a open top bus, and remember thinking at the how brilliant would it be if we got back to the PL league, and how much fun the celebrations would be.

I can't see us being able to do it if we drop any points at home.

All of those away games are very, very difficult. I can't help but think that united have the easier run in.

Brentford and Colchester may have nothing to play for by the time we play them. This could be important.

Rochdale and Exeter may need wins against United to keep them up.

Mid table teams are the best to be playing at the business end of the season - is there any way of highlighting relegation threatened clubs?

Huddersfield have 5 out of their next 7 games away from home.

The 2 home games are Charlton & us!

April looks fairly tough for us.

We need to win all our games in March to ease the pressure a bit.

My view currently is that if we win our remaining 5 home games we will grab second. 5 homes wins would put us on 85 pts and assume we'll pick some bits and pieces up away that would take us around the 90 pts mark which has to be enough surely.

I still standy by what I said and that the Notts COunty was going to be the toughest game of the lot. Away to the most in form team in the league in my view was going to be tougher than an away trip to Huddersfield. I predicted if we win, we shall get second and I definitely still think this.

I don't think 2nd spot will be decided by the Carlisle and Colchester games, because I think that it will go down to the last game for sure. I have also ruled Huddersfield out, just don't fancy them, obvious bottlers.

We have one extra home game, but also we face one more team in the top half than United.

Last game decider!

We could go up, whilst Wycombe go down....

Win all our home games and that will give us 85 points, meaning a couple of draws away should be enough. Easier said than done mind.

As for those saying United have an easier run in, trips to notts county, Hartlepool and Exeter, as well as a home game against stevenage will be anything but easy.

Chesterfield could do us some MASSIVE favors if they can get results against the top teams. Bit of a bad run in for them though on paper with a relegation battle but shezza could come good.

I listened to Brentford vs United whilst driving a few weeks ago, and believe me, Brentford sounded horrific. Obviously anything can happen on the day, but don't just assume that because Brentford has been a noriously tough place to go in the past that we should be overly worried about them.

We really shouldn't fear anyone going into these last few games. I am fairly confident we will grab that 2nd spot, but let's keep our feet on the ground for now ey.

I see us winning at least 6 from the 9 games.

That will give us 88 points, which should be enough.

If we could get 7 wins or a couple of draws then I'm sure we'll go up.

I'm confident that we'll do it.

Can we loan a couple of players to Orient?

Seriously.

I can understand why you might think that - and if we had say Exeter, Chesterfield and Rochdale we'd feel better - but look at the results we got there.

Every game is a huge game now and we will approach everyone with growing confidence.

Don't forget the +8 goal difference united have.

At this stage that is worth an extra point to them??

IF we go up - it is primarily down to our home form - and they always say thats the mark of a good side.

Our home form has been superb. Lets pray we keep it up

Indeed.

5 wins out of 5 and we'll have done it provided we pick up at least 2 more points on the road. The extra home game over united should make us favourites to get 2nd.

And with regards to these tricky away games, I think if we keep winning as we are the momentum towards the end of the season will build and build. Wouldn't surprise me if we beat Huddersfield and Brentford. The slightest chance of success and the fans will carry the players over the finish line.
