  1. Problem is, we can only work with the knowledge of the facts we know about. One of those facts is that he seemingly intentionally screwed us over financially by going to Leicester via one of their offshore feeder clubs so they wouldn't have to pay us the fees we were entitled to. Is that disputed? I can't see how it could be with how it all played out, but I'd be happy to hear another explanation.
  2. Do you have insider information? I seem to remember the claim at the time was that we offered him the best contract we've ever offered to a player coming out of the academy.
  3. Assuming Johnson hasn't been instructed to stop making runs like he did yesterday for the goal (I'd expect he's actually encouraged to, same goes with Pol), then it's the team's responsibility to drop in and cover his position while he's attacking. He can't be blamed for not being in two places at once.
  4. Aside from the three points I think this is my 2nd most favourite thing from today.
  5. Forest have every right to be apoplectic about that third penalty decision, I can't fathom how VAR didn't give it. Where they've crossed the line is publicly calling the official's integrity into account. That doesn't seem like a sensible thing for a supposedly professional outfit to do. That being said, I'd be genuinely surprised if there's a single impartial person in the country with eyes who would (non jokingly) claim it wasn't a foul. So to be fair to them, either the VAR assistant was biased in their decision making, or they're so severely incompetent at their job that this decision is grounds for instant dismissal from their position and they should never referee professionally again. There's no excuse for getting that so incredibly wrong with the luxury of replays. I'm baffled.
  6. Unless there's a clause of goalkeepers not being subject to the denying of a goalscoring opportunity rule then surely the only way to interpret it is that he would be given a red for denying a goal by purposely committing a foul. It's a situation I doubt the rules ever took into account when written, but as far as I understand them I don't see why he'd get away without further punishment. Not that I'd expect the referee to interpret the rules logically at all (perhaps understandably in this case...).
  7. I watched the movie for the first time a couple of months back (spoilers ahead)... I'm now quite confused why we've adopted it into footballing culture as inspiration for being able to pull off almost impossible-looking feats like avoiding relegation against all odds, given that the great escape ultimately ended in failure with almost everyone either dead or recaptured Catchy tune though.
  8. I could understand posting a thread like this if you were born yesterday, but it’s less than 12 months after Peterborough so that should make you realise you’re giving up hope too easily, or just looking for attention I guess.
  9. Surprisingly they kept him on for the whole 90 minutes as well, even though the game was clearly over before the hour mark. Their fans have been saying he looks knackered at the moment. I can't say I liked seeing it at the time, but I've noticed Röhl subbing Bannan and one or two others to save them for the next game when we've dropped 3 or 4 goals behind a couple of times this season.
  10. Birmingham City fans successfully petitioned to have Bobby Madley replaced as the assigned referee for last night's game against Cardiff, due to him being a known supporter of one of their relegation rivals (Huddersfield). https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/key-birmingham-city-v-cardiff-28969709 It might already be a concern in itself if this referee is from the local area of Stoke, but we've also been assigned Madley as one of the assistants against Stoke too!
  11. If anyone wants a bit of an extra confidence boost for us staying up, just check out Blackburn's defending on their highlights from tonight: https://www.skysports.com/football/bristol-city-vs-blackburn-rovers/485201 Even after watching Wednesday for so long I don't think I've ever seen us have that many individual pieces of awful defending in one match
  12. If we beat them we're level on points. Their other 3 remaining games are Leicester, Leeds and Coventry. If we do get that win they're in serious trouble.
  13. I should clarify that while there was obviously some kind of falling out with Johnson and Xisco, it wasn't that Johnson didn't want to play. Just as I'm pretty confident that he hasn't downed tools now either.
  14. Reading the words would probably be more beneficial! Once again someone got the rumours started about a falling out with Johnson on here, and just like every other time it was rumoured earlier in the season (i.e. with Xisco, and then with Ipswich in January) its turned out to be nonsense. I stand to be corrected if Röhl has specifically called out Johnson's effort at any time, but it seems people have been putting 2+2 together to get 5 with Röhl's comments about wanting to talk about the team who gave their all against QPR. He was never criticising Johnson with that statement, only saying that he wanted to talk about the players on the pitch rather than anyone who wasn't available for the game.
  15. I thought Beadle did really well to handle some weird jeering from the Kop last night. There was more than one occasion when it seemed like people wanted him to rushingly kick it long as soon as he picked up the ball, even when we had no players up the pitch yet. It was all a bit baffling. It was probably also one of those moments where most of the apparent jeering came from the sound of other people jeering at the original jeerers for being so stupid.
