Not immune from criticism

Have to agree. Didn’t really make sense to wait. Some of the players were looking leggy …. Wish we’d given the 3 subs at least 10 minutes to try and have an impact on the game

Big fan of Röhl but that was ridiculous.

It was a must win game considering what was going on elsewhere.

We need to make changes earlier, change formation and apply pressure.

What makes this so much worse is Stoke was truly shocking, a absolute pile of sh*e, they was there for the taking and we waited, Stoke wanted a point, happy to sit back and ride it out.

It really was puzzling wasn't it.

Normally Danny makes earlier changes.  I was thinking he only really thought we would get a winner from a set piece. so that is why he didn't change it.

We could all see that we needed to do something different though.

Same story every game. League one forwards.

Agree with that, but if you are struggling to win a game you make changes and it was too little too late

Not saying you don't. Should have done it earlier. To be honest we were crying out for pace in the first half even when we were dominating. But we had more than enough chances to win 5-0.

Smith missed two

Ugbo missed two

Palmer had about an hour for the one he smashed wide.

Goal mouth scramble didn't go in

Goal disallowed

The spine of the team is the same as it was last year. Ihekwe, bannan/vaulks, windass, smith. It's league one.

There's only really gassama to come on that can really change a game now Poveda is out.

They needed to come on as soon as Stoke scored. Making those subs weakens us defensively, so weren't needed when 1-nil up, but a draw was not good enough today, we needed to throw everything at it from the minute they equalised.

Although it may have felt like it ….. We didn’t lose.

Don’t think people are blaming the subs for drawing today, we’re just questioning whether giving them more time, especially when the game was getting stretched, would have given us more of a chance to retake the lead.

The bigger mistake was not instructing wing backs to sit in for a bit. I cannot work out why you'd be that open having just taken the lead and they'd literally just made attacking subs to highlight their intent

I’m not going to criticise the manager. He’s got a lot more right than wrong this season. It’s looking bleak tonight but the mood could easily change for the better next weekend. It’s not over until it’s over.

Great points, well made. I thought we were slow to make the subs but I see your point and you can see why he hesitated.

Windass for Paterson was an obvious change before kick off and for every one of the 66 minutes it took to realise.

Crazy to leave it until full time to make the final changes. Too little too late.

Gassama needs to start the next game in place of Johnson too.

Pato was the least needed change.

Windass did okay first half, he sent in a lovely ball for a ridiculous easy chance that Ugbo missed. He linked up play well.

What did Pato actually do when he came on? He won a couple of free kicks and appeared to back heel their player when he was on the ground. ( Pato was getting up at the time but it looked a bit naughty from where I was sat)

For the record I am a big Pato fan, but he contributed next to nothing when he came on.
