Neymar off to Saudi Arabia

Recommended Posts

Strange player.

All the talent in the world, a genuine world class talent, and yet...

Decided to move to PSG relatively young because he wanted to be the main man and not in the shadow of Messi.

Failed to win the Champs League and is now off to Saudi at the age of 31.

Always thought that playing for Brazil, he was the worst of team players, always trying to do too much  and hunting the glory.

He's been the anointed one for so long.

The heir apparent to Ronaldo, Ronaldinho etc.

Remember when he got injured in 2014 and the whole country had a meltdown...and then they had an even bigger meltdown against Germany.

Dare I say, one of those players who is almost bigger than his international side. Bit weird.

Been Brazil's "Poster boy" for years, yet he's not actually achieved as much as he probably could have.

I'd never consider him as "one of the greats" whereas the other Brazil legends I do.

Maybe it would have been different for him had he stayed at Barca or moved to another top team other than PSG.

Unfortunately for him he was only a few years younger than Messi.

He apparently wanted out of PSG because he’s had enough of Mbappe… Neymar has had enough of how someone else acts… how bad is Mbappe?!

The only place he could go was Saudi. At 31 it’s probably not where he expected to be but with him messi and Ronaldo gone we can talk about others now. A good move for everyone involved.

This is Just not good on any level though is it

some weird backwards oil state so they already suck

human rights abuses etc

and now they’re just slowly diluting European football by taking mega stars

and it won’t grow any kind of exciting new league

I just don’t get what Saudi Arabia are trying to achieve…. Are Sky and BT gona suddenly pay them loads to broadcast the matches?

there’s too much football to watch as it is

Just trying to take one step closer to this "Super league" maybe?

They'll never be in the Champions League, so the only way to get the Saudi teams playing the Elite team is to create a new one.

Agree.

Would class him as similar to a Lukaku, Overmars or Hazard when I think of standard of player in future.

Very good, but not really that truly elite level. Cared more about a step over then end product, similar to Ronaldo when he first came to Man Utd
