Lodged a formal loan offer for Elliot Anderson according to The Northern Echo.

I just don’t see where you’re fitting players like Anderson, Windass & Wilks into a 352 myself. Howson has reported that we intend to recruit for 352 but all the targets suggest otherwise.

Agree.

It would be a big call and possibly a foolish one to move away from a formation which delivered, performances, goals and results.

I don't see where Anderson fits in to a 352, similar to Shodipo and Corbeanu.

Absolutely. My worry is we are recruiting good players that don’t fit into our system which is what we did last summer.

Both great examples, could add NML to that list too.

Think we’ll look something like this:

Stockdale

Hunt Iorfa Dean Palmer

Bannan Vaulks

Wilks Windass Anderson

Gregory

And always the flexibility to go back to a 3-5-2 if necessary

Stockdale

Iorfa Dean Heneghan

Hunt Bannan Vaulks Byers Johnson

Gregory Hirst

Yep, some mitigation last year as Moore clearly intended to play another system, that we clearly weren't able to do.

But Moore never showed any flexibility for me to now think he’s going to change. He went with 352 and never budged. In game, he would never really adjust if we were chasing a game or leading either.

With it being reported that he still intends to play 352 that’s what concerns me. That we are signing good players that won’t fit.

But then also say we change to 4231 and it’s not as successful as 352, what was the point in changing something that worked?

Don’t know if this has already been posted but seems the Rotherham Advertiser has also linked us with Michael Smith today along with Hull & Cardiff.

Funnily enough the article also says Ihiekwe is likely to be moving on and has been linked with Derby. I’d be a big fan of us singing him.

We need to be able to change systems during certain games and before others to suit certain teams we face, so yes we need a few to be able to change as required? But I’m a bit worried that we had a system ( when specialist players played there ) that for most games after Xmas put us in automatic promotion form? Hope moore knows wot he is doing and we don’t end up like start of last season when we didn’t look like or score many goals

I’d agree to an extent. But that 3-5-2 is very dependent on good wing backs. Hunt and Johnson were great in the most part last season, but can they play with the same intensity for another year? A quality wing back will cost a lot of money.

I think Moore is possibly also looking at what Roberts and Clarke did for Sunderland in the play offs. Plus I think we’re always prone to leaking silly goals with three at the back.

I have no reason to believe they don’t have the capability to play that way over a season. They’re both natural in that role and what they needed for me was some competition because Brown, NML, Shodipo & Palmer were miles away form the standard of Hunt & Johnson at WB.

The issue I have is if we sign Anderson & Wilks and we’ve fought to keep Windass and then begin with a 352. I just hope we don’t do what we did last summer.

Anderson, Wilks and Windass behind Gregory up top would be incredibly strong at this level.

Moore simply has to get that front four to perform.

It’s not out the realms that we decide to go 343, a bit like Conte did with Chelsea a few years ago.

That way you’d end up using Anderson, Wilks, Windass whilst retaining hunt and Johnson as wing backs.

That’s the only thing I could see Moore doing with this recruitment.

The issue with this is we then revert to Bannan as a 2 man CM, which doesn’t work…

Absolutely. Looks lethal on paper.
