Very rarely can you get in round the back early doors. Hard tackles round the edge of the box soften teams up and leave them susceptible to their defences being penetrated. Once you've opened them up and flooded the box then you can get round the back. A 2 pronged attack usually leads to your goal.

Then the floodgates will open ..... Edited September 19, 2019 by OWLERTON GHOST
Guest addedtime
We'd need to continuously keep banging it in there.

Spencerowl
The harder it is the better, it makes you bang it harder and harder, get the pitch nice and wet and then slide in longer and easier, before you know it you will be showered in glory and laying on top of each other fully satisfied and not knowing which are arms or legs as your teams mates then pile on for more
Howards back
Flooding the box, we haven’t done that for along time come to think of it neither have I.

Hookowl
Coming in round the back to flood the box can be a dangerous tactic. You always run the risk of one member of the team being slapped down.

When the other one's been left wide open and exposed, then, and only then should we concern ourselves with unloading everything we have into their box. 1

Their defences will be strong and that can lead to a player being denied or worse, deliberately injured. Patience is the key, you have to slip one in while their attention is elsewhere. 1

Fulham will be craving for cottaging. The trouble with players going box to box is it tends to get very messy.
latemodelchild
Obviously all this talk is easy when your playing scunthorpe away. Different proposition when it's arsenal at home.
Samurai Blue
Which ever style we choose to adopt. It's all about the delivery. Long balls or short balls, it shouldn't matter. Find an opportune moment for a gap, and get into the channels.
Rogers
I personally think we won’t get started to go in front and we’ll have to come from behind. And that will depend if we can spread the balls across their backline.

Against Fulham for instance .. can we get the penetration to continually enter the box and flood it? We flooded the pitch several years ago and that didn't help. Chris Apolon
If we get in or around the box, we can slip a cheeky one in. With the quality we have that few seconds of penetration can cause moments of bliss for us and 90 minutes of despair for the opposite Edited September 19, 2019 by Chris Apolon

OWLERTON GHOST
Looks like the best way to beat Fulham on Saturday is all the team Knock- one -eart early doors ..... Put the game to bed ... 2
