Personally think he's being intelligent about it.  The timing was not ideal for any big changes, not least bringing in a new manager. At least Bullen keeps the consistency, keeps to the plans everyone has been working on.

He could have rushed an appointment.

Job is Bullens to lose imo. We start sh*t and we'll have a new manager soon. Get off to a good start though....

We afforded patience and support for Stuart Gray, so why not with Bullen.....

Because I honestly dont think we have the luxury of patience in our current / potential financial position (unless I'm wrong)?

If that's the case ,I don't want HUGHTON here,we've just had a manager who doesn't want to be here, why would you want another?

I agree.
Think we all agree Houghton is the best candidate but if the biggest reason he is going to take the job is we are paying him way over the odds then his heart isn't in it.

Agree that our current financial position means we really need to be getting up there sooner rather than later. But bringing in Hughton et al on considerable wages is not guaranteed to be successful either.

That’s true but you've got to hope someone who has been there and done (more than once), and seems to have respect from players and good contacts in the game gives you a better chance.

I think Op has summed situation up well. It has been reported wages being offered are significantly less than we were paying Bruce, this if true is only point which may lter OPs view on recruitment.

To go from headline manager to unknown would make it difficult for the new incumbent.

Bullen is a stopgap, not a solution.

He'll get my support when he's plied trade as a manager elsewhere and worked his way up.
