Class of 91
Leeds isn't a derby. They're just a horrible set of scumbags. Everybody hates them. Steel City Derby is the real game.
Whitechapel Owl
Why on earth are people pretending Leeds is just another game? Wins against them always live long in the memory, bigger crowds, picked for tv every season etc. Of course it's not as big as playing the pigs but dismissing it as a derby or them as rivals is silly. It's not just about league positions. If it was, then Middlesborough would be Yorkshires top team, for last season. You're not conveniently forgetting Middlesborough, are you ? As for the Blades, they'll never be the top team in Sheffield, never mind Yorkshire ! They just don't have the class !
dani_armo
I'd lose 10-0 on Friday if it meant beating them dirty red and white scrubbers 1-0 with a deflection off Nuhius bell end at bumhole stain

Too far away from proper Yorkshire (North) where I grew up. "Proper Yorkshire (North) where I grew up". What on earth are you on about. It would be nice if you could give us your definition of what you consider to be proper Yorkshire and what isn't proper Yorkshire. Please tell us......

It's great to beat them but unless we're playing them I don't even concern myself with their result to be honest. Pigs on the other hand, I always check their scores while I'm checking ours. Always puts icing on the cake of our wins if they lose and helps make a loss slightly more palatable if they've dipped as well. And a couple of them at work have just grunted something to me about an anniversary too. UTO FTB An anniversary of nearly throwing away a 2 goal lead and winning by 2 goals So desperate to emulate the BDM Bouncing day
northeastowl
I think it depends on where you live and who you socialise with. Ive been out of Sheffield now for 16 years and during this time I haven’t known one United fan so as much as I disliked them at school and want them to lose every game I don’t really care about them. Leeds on the other hand I hate. Living where I do it’s absoutely full of their fans who in the majority have a massive chip on their shoulder. They’re the best football team in the world (European champions I may add) and have the best and hardest supporters in the world. Everybody hates them but unfortunately that only makes them play on it even more.

North Yorkshire, where I grew up, is stunning. Live on the edge of the Peak District now, doesn't compare. You are out of order ! Don't refer to me as a "dimwit"or having a "tiny mind" They are personal insults . If you choose not to answer my question, that's one thing. But don't resort to insults. No need for it. Let's keep it civilised....... Thank you.
oriss
1 Boro fan here, if we are talking top league position then are not Huddersfield Yorkshire's top dog at the min. 2 Boro are most definitely a Yorkshire club. 3 Most Boro fans like yourselves have a deep dislike of leeds. Probs due to all those North Yorkshire folk who mentioned before support Leeds but should be Boro as we are the main club of North Yorkshire. PortlandOwl
Don't class Leeds as a derby as it's almost 40 miles away.
PeteG_1984
Losing to Leeds wee wees me off, losing to the pigs hurts deep inside. With Leeds being the other big club in Yorkshire, that makes our games against them bigger than say Donny v Bradford. There’s also the fact that they’re horrible and hated across the country, not just by their neighbours. For me it’s also personal as my father in law is one of them.

Portsmouth and Southampton hate each other - but it’s still a rivalry and not a derby in the true sense. I was with you until you mentioned Pompey. Guest ka58
People hate Leeds through a trend going back to the 60s/70s - people hate united cos they are our biggest rivals and our derby. I think giving credence to Leeds as a Derby gives them more credit than they deserve.
