BREAKING - George Hirst Gone

But if they are doing that, why shouldn’t they?

George Hirsts interest is to himself.

Nigel Pearsons interest is to himself. Which is best served by looking after his employer.

David Hirst’s interest is to his son.

George Hirst signed a contract at Wednesday and to my knowledge his commitment has never been questioned during that time.

He was then offered a contract and decided not to sign it.  He is perfectly entitled to do this.

Theyve done nothing illegal and have acted in their best commercial interest.

Really don’t understand why football fans think footballers should behave differently to the rest of the population.

Why on earth would George Hirst do something that’s not to his commercial advantage because it suits Wednesday?

Bizarre thought process on here.

And our interest is to the club.

Hirst senior can't run with the hare and bark with the hounds, which is why he's no longer welcome as far as I'm concerned.

We played Thornily, Clare, Kirby etc - none of them have played for England.

Two of them have been on loan though haven’t they. At least one is older and came down from Everton so he did his time.

He has.

He and his advisers (plus Leicester) have probably also screwed our club out of a pretty decent amount of compensation.

That's their prerogative (they haven't broken any rules), but don't expect people to be falling over themselves to applaud them for doing so.

What about all the money Wednesday have cost ourselves?

Why should a young lad just starting his career care when football is so cut throat he could just have easily been released at 16. Why are football fans so sensitive.

Wednesday saved a fair bit by not breaking wage structure again.

Thorniley and Clare have played rough and tumble league football against actual real experienced blokes though.

England kids play other young kids.

Not really. Cannot judge Hirst on one game that he may have had nerves for, whenever one of the other so called strikers has a bad game, it's everyone else fault but his,so against Cambridge maybe we didn't play to Hirst strengths.

And when he came on against Reading? What about then? I’m assuming you think maybe we didn’t play to his strengths then either considering his introduction into the side had no impact on that game too?

And if we didn’t play to his strengths in his only 2 previous matches where he was pretty ineffective, what makes you so confident that had we played him ahead of Rhodes, Winnall and Fletcher that we’d have played to his strengths then?

As I keep on saying, to throw an unproven kid who hadn’t impressed previously in the first team into the middle of a promotion battle would’ve been silly.

It's not...

I mean he was always leaving.

Still - feels like a huge *f00k you*.

Shows you how easy the "rules" can be circumvented.

Because you haven’t got one.

Don't waste your time.

He'll bemoan the fact that the club was willing to pay top dollar for proven pros and then on the other hand demand we break the bank to keep a 19-year-old with no track record in senior football.

So against Reading he what got 8 minutes? Laughable.

Bizarre attitude.

I agree with what you wrote in your original. post

If finance is the only motivating factor, that is.

But it cuts two ways.

We've lost out financially by this.

He could have signed for us and then made his big move later.

Old Cod Eyes is the reason he didn't in my view.
