FFS!.

Just reform WEDNESDAYITE and get on with it.

Lets rerun the past 17 years.

I am feckin fed up with putting one kid with potential above the club.

The club will be here when George Hirst is drawing his pension, if he wanted to stay at the club he would have signed the contract in the summer.

If you have some information to argue against Chansiri, put up, same with the 'Legend' who regretted not leaving the owls in 1992-3.

let's not, the egos have been tamed... the gold thrones have been sold......the accounts have been .... erm lost....

i'm starting my own group,...

Thank God we have someone like you to tell us hes crap and won't ever make a player. Instead of listening to those England staff, and the scouts from Everton, Leeds and Leicester who all want to sign him. They clearly know nothing.

Have you offered your services to Sheffield Wednesday? No doubt we could stop signing all the crap we have been with someone like you on the books?

They have 100's of millions to spend, the amount of money that premier league clubs spend on young english players that never see a first team game is unbelievable.

£5m to a premier league club is no gamble.

No one has done it. If he was that sought after he would have gone.

Look across the city.

Yet the professionals at international level choose to select him for England

And then he goes on to smash goals in at international level

And big clubs are all in for him offering big money

Big money? are you sure?

See ya George. Hope you get all that cash you crave.

Wonder how much board his Dad will take off him when he moves,

The scene was set for George Hirst to work his way up through the teams at Sheffield Wednesday to lead the club to success as the blue and white runs through his veins.

Instead we have a first team tumbling down the Championship with no parachute, a head coach confused by the whole scenario, a 150th Anniversary Year that is looking like being one of our most tragic in years, an overpriced anniversary watch that was oversold so buyers had to have refunds, an extremely expensive anniversary picture that had the player names printed the wrong way round on it, no big pre-season friendly of any note, players getting signed to the club then going missing and fans wondering if/when we will ever see them play, reports of players falling out with the head coach, ticket prices going bonkers and the chairman having to apologise for pricing fans out but still keeping the prices as they are, traditional blue and white stripes being taken off home shirts (and then sold with some bizarre far east sizing in the shop), away shirts still don't exist in real life, home shirts being given an introductory price for longer than a DFS sale, a commemorative third shirt designed by a fan to celebrate the 150th Anniversary that still hasn't been released, a bizarre 'Christmas tree' wigwam teepee thing erected outside the 'megastore' that up until recently was still selling playoff final commemorative t-shirts, a 150th Anniversary Year that will be remembered as being represented by a collapsing cake, the newly released home shirts selling out in most sizes ahead of Christmas and even more bizarrely the megastore staff telling fans they have no idea if/when theyll be back on sale, empty executive boxes and sponsors who have walked away angrily, perimeter advertising boards that make the football impossible to see without being distracted, a brand new old club badge that nobody asked for, and much much much more.

And in the meantime fans argue with each other about George Hirst (some choosing to trust the people who gave us all the above over a fellow Sheffield Wednesday fan and an all time Sheffield Wednesday legend thanks to a well timed PR press release Q&A with the Chairman).

A young lad who every single Sheffield Wednesday fan should be urging on to stay at the club and work his way up to the number 9 shirt in the first team

Why?

Because right now he's pretty much the only thing left about our Sheffield Wednesday that is recognisable, that is ours, and that represents hope to not just fans but to all young players at the academy, all of whom have their contracts ending in the summer.

Any fans yelling for George Hirst to clear off needs to stop for a second and just think about the wider implications of this move and what it really truly represents.

What the move represents is a money grabbing kid getting ahead of himself because he played for 20 mins in the first team. It was oartly out fault for not limiting his expectations at the time mind. Nothing more. He doesn't deserve the big increase. He's done roger all at the moment.

Once again, if he was George Smith no one would give 2 shits.

The irony in this post is huge

Chansiri has increased ticket prices for fans by 35%, increased hospitality pricing by 85%, increased kit pricing by 40% in order to have you guys subsidise his bid for the Premiership where he will increase the clubs overall income by 600% - and yet Hirst is wrong to demand the market rate for a player like him? lol

How very naive

You missed out the % increase spent on the team.

There's only ONE thing it represents Neil

Money is ruining the game. When you get young kids driving such a hard bargain when they haven't achieved literally a single thing in the game you know its time to give up. Its as simple as that.

Well done Sheffield Wednesday for not buckling.

What hard bargain are you aware of?

Did you read the Chairmans Q&A? In fact I know you did, you posted it. All you need to know is in there. Straight from the horses mouth

We offered a lucrative contract. The most lucrative EVER offered a kid. Yep a KID. And he refused it. What more do i need to be aware of?
