He has a chairman who massively indulges him, lets him sign players on high wages then allows him to effectively freeze them out. There really is no other way of explaining what goes on. But instead Mcmanaman has been on the bench, Abdi has been left out of the squad for tactical reasons (according to Howson), and Forestieri has been played up too with Fletcher. I said it a few times last season that I don't think many managers would have come into our club and thought, this looks like a 442 squad to me. sheriwozgod Posted May 27, 2017 Share Posted May 27, 2017 THE biggest dropped ballack of last season for me was not utilising McManaman and Buckley more than we did. Yeah, our defensive record was good which was helped by Wallace and Reach virtually playing as extra full backs, We have Rhodes,Winnall and Fletcher who are all very good in the air yet we NEVER picked attacking wingers that would have got the best out of them. I know Mc can be a bit prickly to say the least but I for one think our team could do with a bit more of that in its DNA and I will echo what others have said in that he will go somewhere like Leeds or Derby who play him properly and we will see what could/should have been. He's clearly a confidence player, someone who needs a manager that puts some belief & faith into him. He could quite easily go somewhere else in the summer & do what Mcgeady has done for Preston.
