Exactly. Staggering

It's basically a case of someone having made their mind up months back and now, for the sake of their own ego, being unwilling to admit that they may have been wrong.

This twitter abuse is becoming the biggest urban myth ever.

If you haven't seen it, stop spreading the fake news.

Our Chairman is clever like that!

Alternatively, losing in the semis, he could be out on his ear.

It's a very fine line, and our Chairmain hasn't got where he is by being sentimental.

Don't actually think most people know what abuse is reading this.

I haven't seen one person be able to provide facts or evidence.

All just hearsay picked up from interview soundbites and then exaggerated and embellished until it becomes fake news and urban myth.

This thread shows the problems of managing Sheffield Wednesday. The main one is a complete lack of faith in the current management, and a gross impatience all the time.

We have been brainwashed over the last 40 years that we are a massive club, which belongs at the top of everything, and when do we want it? Yesterday! Face facts, gentlemen. In the current scheme of things, the Premiership is governed by the Manchester clubs, the top London clubs, and Liverpool. How many seasons recently has the PL not been ruled by these 6 clubs? Sheffield has been a backwater as far as people think. Maybe  Sheffield Wednesday should be among the elite, but they are not, for various reasons, not the least the image of Sheffield as a smokey, dirty City with its mills, steelworks, heavy industry. We who live in and around this can testify that it is a myth, but myths are not easily dismissed. Players of class are a different breed nowadays, and money, whilst playing a big part, is not the sole attraction for a club. The one thing which will impress the top players is results over a period.  Clubs do not become massive overnight. It is a process of evolution, and in some cases revolution. In order to become big, we must think big.We are of the impression that we have spend much over the last couple of seasons, yet in current times, spending less than £10M on a player is NOT excessive.

CC and DC have shown a desire to sit at the top table, but this is not going to happen this week. Carlos has been more patient than many, results have not always pretty, but in the last two seasons there has been a steady improvement in our League status, and a consolidation. For the first time in a 70 years of watching the Owls, I am starting to become optimistic. Yes, everyone has a right to his opinion, but today's attraction with public media often leave scars.

Don't forget, CC's automatic reaction at the end of a winning match is invariably to go onto the field and thank not only his players, but his supporters. The likes of Shankly, Fergie, and many others ALL had to start somewhere and BUILD.

I agree with pretty much everything you have said. The only thing that is not quite on point is the smokey, dirty City. Lets face it London has always been known as "The Smoke" and Manchester, well Salford which is the home of Manchester United, was always referred to as "Dirty ol' Town".
