@owlstalk
Newcastle United are about to unveil a brand new statue (clearly Alan Shearer despite the covering trying to hoodwink us that it's Shaka Hislop) Wonder how much these things cost and whether it would be possible for our fans to raise money for a couple (maybe Hirsty and Waddle?) BrianMarwood
The criteria seems to be former player who then got the club relegated as a manager. We should commission a Chris Turner statue immediately.
The Night-Owl
A Adthe Nuhiu statue would tower over the stadium and it would probably have a better chance of scoring

Lets be be honest about it, we were nothing more than a business opportunity to him, it's not like he bought us out of the love of his heart. He bought us on the brink of administration for next to nothing and sold us for a small fortune. Yes he stabilised the club etc but he wouldn't have done so if there wasn't any money to make. debram
Eric Taylor Eric Woodhouse Taylor was a football administrator who spent his entire 45-year career at Sheffield Wednesday serving as manager, secretary and eventually vice-president. During his time at the club he rose from office boy to vice-president and became known as “Mr. Sheffield Wednesday”.

The Hillsborough stadium that you see today is largely down to the work and vision of this guy.

This is correct, but I still think the best tribute the club could pay to this man, is to name the stand that was his permanent legacy after him No more 'North Stand', just the Eric Taylor Stand 1
ohgoditsjames
We do need a statue, there are many people who would be worthy of having one so we would have to decide. Can we get something like this funded?
torryowl
as good as hirst and waddle were dont think they merit a statue when we have so many who have served the club better ......people like andrew wilson ,bob brown. ellis rimmer ,eric taylor, ron springett, howard wilkinson etc etc . The Night-Owl
Ellis Rimmer with the FA Cup for scoring in every round of the Cup the last time we won it? The legendary Ron Springett?
