richowl
nothing wrong with 2/3 loans to supplement a squad. it's when you start relying on loans like we have previously which is the problem.

Guest wilyfox
We have the opportunity to build our own decent team for the first time, let's do that. Loans are insecure. Ibe and Afobe both signed on season loans, both were recalled. Under Chansiri, let's not live in fear of that phone call. Let's not be at the mercy of other clubs. Yes build our squad but if the opportunity comes to take a quality player on loan that will improve us where there is no chance of a full transfer then you take it. Also just try and have a clause where they can't be recalled, after certain dates players can't be recalled from loans either. Nothing to fear. Nothing to fear. Yeah right... Parent club calls the shots. Bournemouth, Leicester and Burnley didn't need the loan market to win promotion. It's not essential. Swiss Toni
No loans please. Long term loans, yes. Short term loans, no. Why should we not take advantage when other teams do? If it weren't for the loan of Wickham and Fryatt we could well have been playing in League One.

Let's not be at the mercy of other clubs.Sentiment is right but we're talking about 2-3 players. Loans are for players that we need (to fit our system) but, for whatever reason we cannot get. As for previous loans, we've had some ordinary ones, but we've had some very good ones too. The same could be said for permanent signings as well. Don't always work out. I think it's foolish to not have strategic use of loanees (a small number) in your bag of tricks.
nolan_swfc
I'd be happy with a couple of loans with a view for a permanent transfer

EcclesallOwl
Yeah right... Parent club calls the shots. Bournemouth, Leicester and Burnley didn't need the loan market to win promotion. It's not essential. Burnley had Kightly on loan, Bournemouth had Boruc on loan and possibly another? Agree that they're not the way a club should prioritise but to compliment an existing solid squad, they can be very useful additions.
gurujuan
Well I would really like James Wilson, but if it's no loans, then I like the idea of a Chris Wood/Nahki Wells combination. Yes, it's a bit of a little and large pairing, but both are mobile, and both score goals. Wells is really quick in and around the box, which I think gives him a better chance than May of playing at a higher level. Still like James Wilson as well though
Blueblood
You think in our summer of a big turnaround we'll sign 4 players ?Genuine question.Wasn't the big turnaround in regards to the club as a whole, rather than just the playing staff?
