KivoOwl
An XI picked from the 04/05 and 11/12 seasons - I'd go for - Stephen Bywater Lewis Buxton--Danny Batth--Richard Wood--Reda Johnson Michail Antonio--Glenn Whelan--Jose Semedo--Chris Brunt Steven MacLean--Gary Madine That midfield *drool*
Essix Blue
Great evening thoroughly enjoyed it. 10 players turned up - from that season not just final team. Sturrock recorded an interview with J Pearson which was quite funny. To a man they all stated the main reason for turning up tonight was to catch up with old friends. It was obvious from the outset that the team spirit was something special back then, which played a major part in our promotion.
owls maniac
Bet some of the lads in that team still can't believe their luck. James bloody Quinn. Went bonkers when he scored that goal at Hull

owl-zat
Did Sturrock, JP McGovern or Richard Wood come? Sturrock did an interview earlier in the week via Skype with John Pearson which was played and yes JP and Woody where both present too
FlyingOwl
Joey O'Brien's first loan here was during our promotion season. Oh I'm with you. I thought you meant Burton O'Brien Fun fact about Joey O'Brien. Only home game I missed that season was when he scored in the 4-2 defeat to Hull. Instead I was at school dressed like a fairy for a Christmas play. Teacher said I'd be kicked off the school football team if I went to the match.... enjoyyourfootball
I've watched Wednesday since 1989 and Chris Brunt is one of my favourite players during that time. One of the best deliveries with a left foot I've ever seen , and imo criminally underrated by most swfc fans because he "was lazy"

That team needs a captain.

TrickyTrev
Chris Turner put one hell of a side together that season on a very limited budget... Deserves a lot of credit.
SallyCinnamon
Joey O'Brien came to us on loan again under Megson didn't he? 2011? Thought his career was over after that, a lot of injuries. But then managed to get in the West Ham side in the Prem. Thinking about it, the 11/12 side were much better. I'd even have Lines over Whelan for what he actually contributed during the season. 15 assists was it? Obviously Whelan went onto have a better career. Would also have Marshall/Antonio over Brunt. Maclean would get in the side though.

Lucas Bruce Batth Bullen Reda Antonio Semedo Whelan Marshall Maclean Jones I was tempted to put Brunt in but his best form came in the Championship and if memory serves me right, only played in the playoff final due to an injury to Hamshaw. The only thing id question about Reda, is that he only played around half the league games due to injury. Didn't we end up with Beevers at left back for the run in? Didn't we end up with Beevers at left back for the run in? Yeah we did. But then Bruce can't be playing right back because we only had him on loan for the last couple of months. To pick a team of individual players or to pick a team of players who contributed the most to the season is the question.
