dontCallMeOwlCallYou
All seems a very clever way of getting around FFP . Its pretty clear TUF are involved financially ,and the advertising board at the press conference just backs up that theory . Also all along we have been told its a consortium ,which again makes sense of the TUF boards today . Agreed TUF logo was placed for a reason mate, there's something in place I'd guess
roaminowl
Son, I thought i would buy you a football club for your birthday, how about Sheffield Wednesday? Couldn't I have a cowboy outfit instead? OK, Sheffield United then
horny owl
Who cares about FFP Just do what clubs like Man City do and spend millions over budget and pay a fine Sorted.
S36 OWL
Are we sure that would still get past FFP? It's still a family company If TUF sponsor the kit for say £5m a season ,and the ground for say £10m a season wouldnt that class as income ,therefore not breaking FFP rules. ? Earlsfieldowl
I'm not too worried about this being a personal endeavour of Dejphon's. He's clearly a well schooled and experienced businessman. AND his Dad is #40 on the Forbes list at 80 years of age. TUF makes Billions of Dollars and is still growing. Dejphon will inherit quite a packet one day. Good point - could end up with a very rich benefactor in time
Guest totemowl
I wonder if debt free also means any outstanding debts to DA & the care home crew have now been cleared. Didn't that money become due before 2020 either on promotion to EPL or on MM selling the club? I think it did.
Guest Johnbloodaxe
regarding fair play there's a couple of prem clubs recently in news re FFP Liverpool were let off after saying money was for ground improvements other club got fined £145k... whahahahahhahah crippling fine (not) when compared to prem league status.. so all in all it;s not even worth considering the implications.. Just not a serious impact.

jonnyowl
FFP rules were changed a while ago. A team can lose £39m over 3 seasons. But the football league can't impose a sanction either sporting or financial on a Premier league team, this is how QPR have got away with it so far. He could blow £39m this summer with the hope of getting promoted next year and staying there! I still think we will be looking at the same level of investment that Leciester have had! Guest Johnbloodaxe
This family could be worth much more than just the TUF value, which has a target of doubling in value by 2020. They have many interests. When you consider Abramovitch is worth $8 or 9 billion our new owners aren't that far behind. 28% of TUF PLUS all the other interests. Exciting times... Guest Johnbloodaxe
well researched john . Just lots of googling Trev Very exciting day for us. Chuffed to bits. I know I have been critical of MM (rightly so IMO) but he's handed us on to someone who could deliver the dream, so I am thankful to him for that. COME ON WEDNESDAY!!!! Sonny
I guess the personal investment debt free thing will play out in time, much like with MM. If he gets us to and keeps us in the Premiership then not an issue but if we're not as successful as planned or he gets bored then it may be reflected in the sale price? Very positive for now but subject to word and other potential outcomes.
Think tank
I wonder if Debt free means the 'parked' debt due to Dave Allen on return to the Premiership has been paid too?
