Look at this photo... Is this a penalty ?

Maguire doesn't usually do himself any favours at all

Foul or no foul he always makes things look worse by throwing his arms in the air and flinging his head back

And pulling a stupid face- like the other stonewaller last season at Burnley away.

He is just a terrible actor- so bad in fact that he somehow manages to make clear cut pens look like dives.

And that's exactly what i have been saying.

He has been booked before for simulation (Burnley for one in the cup), the refs pay attention to these sort of things , he has history.

Maguire is his own worst enemy.

I know people are having a go at the ref and the decision but some frustration needs to be heading towards Maguire, he doesn't need to be theatrical, he does it a lot.

If he was touched or not the throwing of arms, the pushing out of the chest is a constant in Maguire going down.

It does not matter HOW a player falls...what matters is: did the defender play, Trip, hold, or push the attacker. In this case, the defender did trip the player and no matter how he fell, it WAS a penalty.

he fell before he was touched...

it's unbelievable how many are struggling with it.

Exactly, the defender failing to win the ball is the trigger not whether maguire made a meal of the actual foul Edited by Bluesteel

Having a history of simulation impacts you..

Chris Maguire, Ashley Young, Arjen Robben, Michail Antonio have all been done for simulation and to say it doesn't matter how you go down is rubbish, how many pens have these players won?

Of course it matters, the refs look for that, throwing you're arms and body out is NOT a natural reaction from being fouled.
