Lord Nilsson
100% home record New squad Signing some of the highest rated players in our division No financial worries So why only 17k in attendance v top of the league?
EcclesallOwl
If we win our next 2 games this week then I reckon our next home match will see an increase in attendance.
Jowl
You gotta remember that Franchise FC only brought a taxi full. I reckon we had 2-2.5K on the last home attendance. I think the trend will be upwards!
BIG D
Rochdale - 21,174 Notts Co. - 16,979 Sflaphorpe - 16,862 MK Dons - 16,982 The last 3 have been very similar however Sflaphorpe brought a few more than MK Dons so yesterday was probably the second best turnout by Wednesday fans. torryowl
reckon thats a decent average that will go up to around 18 k if we get and stay in top 6 .....
TheBoyBeevers
More home fans there than in the two previous games- MK only brought a few. Nothing to be worried about. Edited September 11, 2011 by TheBoyBeevers

Guest TonyOwl88
Its a poor attendance for us, but we shouldn't kid ourselves into thinking it would have been any different with any other circumstances. Our fan-base is pretty negative, and won't continue to come and watch L1 football. Nothing would change this. For example, I thought that our attendances were bad when we were on the brink of administration, but the takeover and injection of money didn't cause a significant increase in attendances. DobbinTheDonkey
Football is far too expensive for some and luxury that will get cut when times get hard. Before anyone spouts about cutting back SKY first rather than SWFC, you have to go on value for money and comfort. Sat at home watching quite a few games over a weekend or getting soaked walking up Herries Road.
Arctic Owl
As a matter of interest, what was the average home attendence when we were in the 3rd tier back in the 1970s? I seem to remember much bigger crowds then.
Guest Big Guns
I don't mind me I'd knock the ground down and rebuild it 25 k capacity flip them who don't go it takes too long to get a pot at half time when its packed
davey_wells
There has definately been a circa 3-4k drop off from what we'd class as a "normal" attendance. Not exactly surprising - in theory it will grow as the season progresses assuming we continue the kind of form we've set so far.
i used to be sc_owl
The casual fans will have seen us play on TV against Blackpool, Bradford and Charlton and probably been put off. Also, they will have seen the table and seen us behind the blunts, without giving much thought to who we've played and how we've played. There will also be a number of fans who simply cannot afford it, or who can afford it but choose to spend their money elsewhere. By the time we've played the first derby if we are in the top-two and above the blunts I don't see why we can't be averaging 22,000 or there abouts. cardiffowl06
Yeah, it would make so much financial sense to downsize cause casual fans can just 'roger off'. So much sense. honest.

Blue and white
Without sounding negative, some fans aren't as fanatical as others, some are fickle and when we have a consistant run in the top 6 will return. Then there are those who simply cant afford it,in this day and age there are people who are really struggling and while they would love to go to the match their money is better spent elsewhere.
