It is now up to us, the fans...

Recommended Posts

As fans, we are a fickle lot (especially on Owlstalk), but I now firmly beleive that the difference between us staying up and going down is not in the hands of the players but in the hands of us, the fans.

If we berate them for not attacking, if we boo them for putting a pass ary, if there are murmers around the ground when the away team has posession, if there are shouts for "get him off, he's poo " whenever JJ / LMC / MT / insert SWFC players' initials shoot and it goes horribly wrong, then we will go down.

If we support them like we know we can. If we pick them up when they make a mistake, if we urge them on as we're attacking and if we get together as a fanbase... we will stay up.

We have 2 home games left, which with the right atmosphere we are more than capable of winning - we have to acknowledge that. If the atmosphere is critical and negative as it has been all season, we will struggle - which we know is fact. So lets have an amnesty on slagging players / management / directors / each other off until all this is over.

It is a sad, sad fact, but we, as Owls fans are the only remaining difference between us staying up and going down - we are SWFC's last hope

So lets get behind the blue and white, lets get behind the club and lets f*cking pull this great big beautiful beast back from its death. UTO WTID

If it is was that simple we'd have been safe weeks ago.

The club's fate lies solely with the players and the manager.

Agree with your sentiments here, but I don't think it will matter one jot how we support the team for the next two home matches, the players will let us down as they have done all season.

Having said that, if we do make the old girl rock and roll on Sunday at least we can't be criticised.

After all it might prove a great PR opportunity for the potential investors to see a full Hillsbrough and Owls fans raising the roof. Hang on a minute.

It's down to the players. Although the fans will help by creating the atmosphere and not getting on their backs for errors/mistakes you can hardly blame fans for getting frustrated when simple things aren't being done.

OK OK OK. Right lets all turn up and boo like we (collectively) have all season. Then when Tommy daren't run down the wing, get on his back so that he starts fluffing his clearances. Or Beevers decides that booting it as hard as he can from defence is better than getting booed for trying to come out of defence with it at his feet. Or JJ stops wanting the ball because whenever he gats it and doesn't score he gets booed. Or Clarke stays as far away as possible from the ball because he knows he will get booed. Or Grant just boots it instead of playing it out. Or etc etc etc.

But... that doesn't matter to yo lot because you told us all so earlier in the year. No f*cking wonder we aren't attracting new fans, when we have stuck-in-the-mud sooth-sayers running through the sppine of our club

We have a chance to change the future of the club by supporting instead of criticising, but "no", that would be too much like pride crunching ignomony for the tw@ts that we call supporters.

You are all correct. You pay, so you can criticise. But why not give them support for 2 games that will change the outcome of our season and therefore future.

Having a great football team is not a divine right, awarded to those who pay £350 a year. Its something that we have to collectively work towards. Unfortunatley none of the stakeholders are doing their bit... and that includes us, as supporters

Well said Dunc.

Amazing how 30 odd thousand fans (of ours btw or any home fans for that matter) can influence decisions - referreing decisions. Make it intimidating for them lot and the ref and we'll be helping them (wednesday) along

At least people will be able to continue arguing about who to blame.

And some will get to say they were right!

That should make them happy.

I'll go on the left of midfield. I'm pretty two footed and have decent amount of pace myself!

If we need an ageing, sluggish central midfield general to cover the centre circle and who can see a pass, make a pass, but needs a rest afterwards, then I'm your man.

I can safely say I wont be booing. I never boo. There is no positves ever going to come from booing our own players.

I will be there for our final 2 home games, and I shall be singing my heart out on the kop ...as per usual.

Thats because im a SUPPORTER.
