HarrowbyOwl
The Daily Rover http://thedailyrover.com/?p=2431&utm_s...+Daily+Rover%29 Rovers ‘injury plagued midfielder Steven Reid is set for a loan spell at Championship side Sheffield Wednesday. In an effort to either earn himself a new deal in the summer or attract potential new suitors should a new deal not be forthcoming, the Republic of Ireland International will join Alan Irvine’s side’s battle against the drop. Reid has made just one Premiership start this season as he bids to get his career back on track following close to two years out with injuries. He has previously been on loan to Queens Park Rangers this season but hamstring problems restricted him to just two appearances for The Hoops. This would seem to contradict LS statement yesterday about recruitment policy and not having money for more loan signings. You can only assume that he won't cost us anything and its seen as a short-term stop gap. Anybody know much about him?
gurujuan
Could be true given AI's Blackburn connections and midfield certainly is a problem for us. Big problem though, we already have SIX central midfielders. Maybe we could get a couple out on loan and bring in a striker.
Guest carlg
There isnt much point brining a midfielder in when we hoof it over the midfield and bypass it completely. WE NEED A STRIKER An oldie, but a goodie - sorry, couldn't resist! :-)
waddleisgod
it would have to free (blackburn pay 100% of his wage) after what LS said last night
malek
This guy is pure class ! Lets test them with bid of around 700k, and perhaps he will agree to join on 2 year 7k a week deal !?
Guest Walkley_Owl
Steven Reid or Darren Potter? hhhmmm tough choice. Reid in, Potter shot, Jeffers in a hit and run = happy
Guest carlg
it would have to free (blackburn pay 100% of his wage) after what LS said last night Absolutely - thought it was quite emphatic NO MORE CROCKS. Let's stick to that, please. Even on those terms, won't such a player be a distraction to physio team, coaching, team dynamics, etc, etc - to what end? Oh, and FJ9 - looking so, so much to you f*cking off this summer. Enjoy the million quid or so you've made from us suckers. Sleep well. ... I can't be arsed to be very eloquent today ... :-)
BRUCE LEE
All these people saying he's a crock...... am I right in thinking if he gets injured we'll just send him back ? Good player, would be leagues above the rest of our midfield.
Brad_owl
If we pull this off then il be very happy.

shez owl
The phrase 'injury plagued' ends this. This is how it'll go: Plays great for 20 mins; we think wow what a great signing, next thing we know he's gone down after a meaningless challenge; dont see him again. Brownlad
I used to really rate him, turned out reasonably well for Ireland too A loan signing would be fine - if he comes a cropper, we can send him back.
neo hippy
yeah if it doesnt cost anything then this could be a great move could be a great player for us if he stays fit, and if its actually true
WalthamOwl
Very good player when fit. Just been looking at Blackburns reserve team and he hasnt been involved in that recently which for me is a concern. Its no good us bringing in yet another player that will take a month to get match fit. Also read his loan at QPR was cut short to 2 games after he picked up an injury. If he was fit though i would love him here.
