NeonLeon
Man Utd couldn't handle him a couple of years back. But you could say similiar things about Jeffers, Miller etc. I can't see it being anything more than a rumour. Like people have said we need a striker or another defender before another midfield player. Especially now Millers back, it wouldn't make sense. Unless someones on their way out of Potter, JoC, Macca....
Beholder
If it means a shake up of our turgid midfield untouchables then I'm very happy. I think JJ can fill in as striker. probably would be better than anything we could afford on loan.
Saxondale
FFS Biz. Surely your continued presence on Owlstalk is untennerble unfeasible ? "Poor man's Ashley Carson." commented a passing vagrant...

Unless someones on their way out of Potter, JoC, Macca.... Am i the only one who thinks the problem is any level of quality within the Midfield area? We are crying out for someone of quality who can do something with the ball and thread through some passes. The problem we are having is that the defenders are lumping it forward to the strikers as there is no quality within the midfield. Gray struggles to beat a man or make a pass, Soares seems totally off the boil and his role as a right midfielder isint suited and the middle two are effort but lack any quality. Whether Reid could bring this quality Im not aware. I remember him being an good premiership player but that was before all these injuries he has had. Given any football from the midfield then i believe our strikers would be ok. We just rarely put any balls into the boxes, thread through some passes or generally have any build up play. Its just getting the ball and trying to work off the scraps Tudgay and Varney create through work rate or mistakes from the opposition defence. Chris E
I used to really rate him, turned out reasonably well for Ireland too A loan signing would be fine - if he comes a cropper, we can send him back. What Brownlad said.
Guest ArbourOwl
What Brownlad said.Me too. we have nothing to lose from signing him so it's worth a punt. they other player's aren't doing anything so give it a go.
NeonLeon
Am i the only one who thinks the problem is any level of quality within the Midfield area? I think everyone knows thats a problem. But i think the above will happen. Its one in one out from now on. So either AI is swapping the midfield around or someone else has gone. For a club in our situation it doesn't make sense financially to sign another player for a position we currently have 5 fit players for. Say AI wants Reid and he's available. When he goes to the board for the moeny, they'll comeback with that sentence ^^^.

It would make sense for both parties. He's nowhere near the first team at Blackburn at the moment, it'll give him some playing time to get himself a new contract so as a gratitude to his service im guessing Blackburn arent commanding a fee for him, wages wise. swafty
This rumour does't entirely tie in with what Lee said last night on FH about there being no cash for loan players. Utter Bollocxs I bet. But I wont bet with Todzilla in case he is Bizzle, the bet welching tvvat. Edited March 4, 2010 by swafty

Spending a few (beyond planned budget) bob now - even though we can ill afford it - makes more sense than risking (which is looking all too possible) relegation and the significant (negative) cash-flow implications that has. We cannot afford to NOT bolster up the squad at the moment. But, with crocks?
shabbyhouse
Finally! He's the man to thread that killer pass through to Franny! What odds can you get on them both being fit at the same time? Could be my lottery win coming up... Could be good, too.
Glaser
Very good player..... but more injury prone than Franny in the last 2 years. He even went to QPR on loan and completed one full game and one match for 80 minutes due a serious of injuries. Is he really the player to be taking a gamble on with his injury record in the last 2 seasons ? Don't get me wrong, fully fit, he will poo poo on most midfield players in this league, but...... I doubt he will stay that
i used to be sc_owl
It would be good if it happened, and if he stayed fit, and if he doesn't need to be brought to match fitness, and if it doesn't cost us too much money... But IMO there are a lot of ifs involved...
Guest trusty_left_peg
Class act when he's not injured. If we can get him in until the end of the season that'd be brilliant - he'd be a really good signing for any side in this division. I would have thought that there would be a fair few other sides in this league interested as well.
Claudio Tankisco
If Blackburn are paying his wages.....it's a risk worth taking as he would be a class act in this league
scram
To be fair if he's costing nothing then we have everything to gain Undoubted quality and if he can play then great - if he can't we've lost nothing
