Monk's done with Rhodes?

What are you talking about. Karancha and Farke both played him in the championship it was when they got to the prem he was surplus to requirements. He helped both clubs to promotion or have you conveniently missed that out for a reason?

Have you read my summary of his season at Norwich? It's rather different than this fanboy fairy story. He started the first 6 league games in which Norwich got 5 points and were a single point clear of the bottom three. After they changed to one up front, Rhodes played from the start only 3 more times. His 6 goals for a team that scored 93 overall and claimed automatic promotion by 11 points really does not seem a big factor, especially as 2 of them came in defeats.

So the predictable seems to have happened.

Rhodes started the opening match, onyl got an hour, but scored.
Started the 2nd, again just got an hour and this time didn't.

And now seems to have just been frozen out.

That's the "run of games" he gets.. yet again.

I thougth he and Windass looked decent up top together. Something that might have grown given matches together..

Not going to be tho, especially with Paterson coming in.

Monk just doesn't want Rhodes. There seems no other conclusion to make. And so it's into the freezer for him.

I'm sure some will look back at the failure of his time with us and blame the player, but I'm really not sure what those people want Rhodes to do. Every striker needs confidence and games. Rhodes gets the odd 10 minutes here and there and is expected to just magically find the groove. That's not how it works for any striker.

What a sad missed opportunity.

Wipes away the tears.heartwarming,....JR was 'frozen out' as you call it at his last Club for alleged poor form, and came here and did......well,draw MILLIONS in wages, whilst refusing to take a key penalty...MMmmmm   who has had the bad deal here?? JR? Garry Monk? or the 'fans;...How many chances does this player have to have??

Q: Do you really believe what you have posted?

Quote: wiki:  At the end of the 2015–16 season, Rhodes recorded 6 goals in 18 league appearances. Middlesbrough also secured promotion to the 2016–17 Premier League, finishing as runners-up behind champions Burnley, and determining their promotion on the final day of the season, in a 1–1 home draw against Brighton & Hove Albion, taking place on 7 May 2016.

Following the signing of Álvaro Negredo on loan from Valencia, Rhodes' future with the club did not look certain, creating extra pressure for him to be in the first-team squad.[50] He managed to play six league games for the 2016–17 season, but was unable to score a goal

Question: Frozen out? or left out?......justifiably?

Agreed. Rhodes did well against Cardiff got a goal and I thought he did well against Norwich.

Then dropped.

Shocking management. It winds me up no end when a manager changes a winning team. I don’t get it.

have to prove their doing something perhaps haha

Preferably we will sign someone sooner rather than later who is capable of playing the role of striker and scoring goals.

Until such time, ask yourself if we have played better with or without Rhodes in the side this season and whether we have got better results with or without him playing.

Then try and work out why he has been dropped with the current options we have.

But they still enquired about extending his loan the following season. It clearly states that Farke and Karancha didn’t fancy him when they both played him in promotion seasons. And chalk Bruce off because he wasn’t even here.

Middlesbrough conceded a remarkable 31 goals in their promotion season. But I'm sure it wouldn't have happened without their fifth leading scorer that season.

How does that change the fact the post is wrong. Spin it how you want

"Can you give us your record transfer for nothing?"

"Are you joking?"

"Oh well then. It was worth a go."

Yeah, they were desperate to bring him back weren't they?

Did Danny Wilson's 6 goals single-handedly get us promotion in 1990/1 ?

Rhodes was one of 30 players Middlesbrough used that season and their success was primarily about their defensive record.

What are you rattling on about. Danny did well Wilson not only played a massive part in our promotion but also winning the cup. A ridiculous point badly executed.

Maybe you're too obsessively giddy to notice the point?

The point at the moment is that shockingly we do not have any other actual strikers and we have played better this season with him than without him in the team.

Oh, and either side of that miracle at the City Ground, Rhodes is currently on a run of 18+12 appearances for us and TWO goals. But evidently his four yard toe poke at Cardiff is like a vision of the Virgin Mary appearing to the faithful.

Only referencing one narrow point here.

The goal at Cardiff was a classic example of the poacher's stock in trade.

Lineaker was feared and lauded for getting in front of the defender and between the keeper and the ball.

It's a skill that looks easy but don't discredit him for a really good goal?

carvahal, bullen and lukahay were absolute disaster of managers and he was on loan the entire time our only non clueless manager has been in charge. (Bruce).  The last two teams he’s played for other than us he’s helped get promoted from this league.

What an absolute load of Pony. He’s our only number 9.

karancha had enough faith to try him out in the premier league. Farke enquires after loaning him again when they were in the premier league. Whether you like him or not he has played for hopeless wednesday managers- sandwiched in between two promotions for other clubs.

harry monk won’t play him because he’s clueless. Would rather have another headless chicken number 10 running around up front than play a striker.

Have him back tomorrow mate.............

I totally understand but you aren’t making the point you think you are. You are just diminishing his involvement in 2 promotions because you don’t like him. The point I am making is the claim he wasn’t fancied by 7 managers is untrue as 2 of them played him and one of them wasn’t even at the club at the same time. In my opinion the other 4 manager don’t know their arse from their elbow. There you go. You must have got it this time!
