love this photo, I remember him doing it, I was stood just to the left of this shot.

What a player, so many good memories of him, taunting the pigs on boxing day, the screamer he scored at the lane and stamping on tony kenworthys toes and then laughing at him. I remember him having a wager with Jack Charlton, Jack saying he would pay him £50 for every headed goal he scored, next game he scored with a header at Grimsby and then a few games later, rounded the keeper sank to his knees and nodded the ball over the line.

Who did he do that against? I always thought it was Rotherham when we thrashed them 5 nil, but was told that it wasn't in that game.

His autobiography is an entertaining read, but only if you are Wednesday fan.

One if the best games that I saw him play was away at Luton in the old second division.

He took the wee wee out of the Luton back four all afternoon.

People were calling for him to be picked for England after that match.

IIRC, the comment from the commentator (Motson?) when we were chanting 'Curran for England' was that it was a slight on a very good player given how bad England were...….or maybe it's just my memory playing tricks on me!

Was it really?  I went to that game as well, amazing how you forget things.  Cheers Mate

I would have sworn it was against Rotherham.

It was against Derby. But it didn't count anyway as he was offside.

Theres an interview with him in this months backpass magazine and he seems bit full of himself ....

He was/is very full of himself, think that's what made him such a character and entertainer.

I'm pretty sure it was against Blackburn but I can't find my programme from the next home game (v Palace) where I'm sure the photo would be.
