What a terrific guy and player to have coming off the bench for the last 30 mins though. terrific player...wow he wouldn't get anywhere Sheff u's or Leeds teaM FFS

legendaryswan
Was a little shocked we didnt go with the bigman and Winnall tbf, considering the big lads stoke have at the back,Id still stick FF down the left and play two out n out strikers, think he more productive out there cutting inside

That's ok, round about the 60 minute mark, if nothing is happening, Nuhiu doesn't always, but does frequently, make the difference, as a sub. Joao may well turn into what he can be, if he's still here next season. Bruce is giving every Player time & chance to prove their worth. Nuhiu is a "grunt" Player, rarely will you take the ball from him, up close and personal, and if you get "tough" with him, he'll knock you on your ass, legally. He's not a "fancy" Player, but often as not, he makes the difference.
DuttyTeabags
Front 3 of big Fletch/Atty, Hooper and Aarons/ FF/Joao should be our starting 3 for remainder of season if we want to do some damage... need that target man with runners off him. Hutch, Bannan and Onomah midfield. Reach needs a breather... kick up the jacksie...

The better option can be to play smaller but quick strikers or intelligent ones who can negate the defenders size. We tried it, it didn't work but it was worth the try. Maybe we should have changed earlier.

It's a system that I prefer as it is much harder to defend against. But as Squirrel Slingshot has said we don't have either the strikers or midfield tor maybe even both to play that system. We only seam to get results when we have a big man for the others to work off. Edited April 1, 2019 by NYowl Spelling
oldishowl
The system we are playing at the moment is really asking for miracles from the strikers. Fletcher has carried us recently because he has just enough mobility, strength and ability to play up there and feed on scraps. We don’t have a lot of possession and central midfield rarely have controlled possession and struggle to get over the halfway line. We are dependant on something being created from the flanks and if like Saturday you have Reach being poor/ injured and Boyd mainly a defensive option then two strikers just on their way back from injury were always going to struggle. It is dilemma for Bruce does he start our only fit striker, Nuhiu, or does he try and give our better players game time in order to get them match fit. Problem is he will run out of games.
