Thye lose contacts if you do not work for several months things move on and in a long absence you can not put the links which were previously in place back quickly. i accept that GM is not CC but he was coaching in middle east and he clearly had no update knowledge on players he recruited players who he had seen play for celtic in Europe. he recruited Mattias who he saw as second striker to only find out when he arrived he did not want to play that position. You miss out on gossip you are out of loop. it is very different to go back into any work after prolonged absence and football is more difficult than most. In addition when he lwas dismissed by mandaric he took scouting reports and other records with him or destroyed them, which is not normally what a manager does.
