The thread began stating that ticket prices are high compared to our current rivals, it didn't mention attendances. Pointing out that we have a loyal fan base with highest average away gate in the league and consistently high at Hillsborough doesn't change that pay on the gate prices at Hillsborough are too high.

What I mean is that the attendances will show the chairman whether or not the ticket prices are too high

Whilstever a business is selling more and more of a product the obvious thing would be to put the prices up

If you're experiencing massive growth in selling something you'd never think your prices were too high and start dropping the prices

No they won't.

what will show the Chairman that is how many individuals click thru a turnstile each game. Which is something else completely

Regardless of price, the hardcore Wednesday support are 20 000 fans who will ALWAYS be there no matter the league no matter the price. The remaining numbers are made up of casual supporters / part timers / glory hunters who are now moaning it's too expensive as the entertainment is just not happening. Nothing new here.

He won’t hes so pig headed ... his like it or Lump it attitude is appalling . I don’t even know if the inevitable drop in season tickets will do the trick

The inevitable drop in tickets?

Attendance has skyrocketed just as much as the price increases.

2015/2016 - 22,641 - play off final

2016/2017 - 27,129 - 4th and semi final

2017/2018 so far - 26,627 and we've played pigs, Leeds, Barnsley and Sunderland already come and gone

Lets see how his growth is going when we finish mid-table and he still has 10,000 empty seats every game. Think growth was based on performance, if no playoffs watch this average drop back down. Put prices at £25 and kids free and make more fans for years to come.

You need to start the downward trend of this season on here. 26,627 so far with all derby matches played.

Huddersfield are bound to hit a bit patch in next 4-5 years but the club and chairmen have stored up a lot of goodwill by how they seem to look after supporters and kept ticket prices low.

As we can see at Wednesday they is not that much goodwill from a lot of supporters when results and performances don't live up to expectations, If you are going to charge sky high prices you really need to back it up with promotion sooner rather then later. Something Chansiri and the club have not done.

Pay on the gaters have already voted with their feet, only a couple of thousand go regularly, roughly 2500 (of our own supporters) for our last game against Bristol C.

Due to play Ipswich Tuesday night, 6th March. By then there will only be hand full turn up.
150 from Ipswich, 200 freebies, 100 of our own POG.
Crowd
21,650

But by then we will be on a roll...so 31,000:carlos:

Let's get one thing reyt, the only reason season tickets and attendances have gone up is because we've been bobbar for years and finally someone came in who we all believed would bring us back to where we belong.

When the fans realise that won't be happening as it stands and if the prices stay the same or go up we'll see the real indicator of how well 'Sheffield' has accepted the admission charges.

We should be proud that SWFC have good attendances, while charging expensive POTG prices to riff-raff part-timers.  The riff-raff like that will be the first to moan when they can't get a super-expensive Wembley ticket for the playoffs anyway, so the club shouldn't listen to their opinions.

It means our most committed fans are financially rewarded, or some sh*t like that...

Absolute garbage.

There are plenty of Wednesday fans out there who are unable to commit to a season ticket for a wide range of reasons. People who work shifts, people with family commitments, people with the responsibility of caring for others. The list goes on.

The guy who works hard for a mere minimum wage, has a partner and a child. Has bills to pay etc. He might have watched Football a lot before he settled down but now has to pick and choose his games, perhaps 4-5 a season. He'd probably go every week if he was still in a position to afford it.

To charge people £35-£40 to watch - what in old money - is a Second Division match is a disgrace.

Now you may be able to go every week. Good for you, but I'll leave with the famous words of Martin Niemoller..

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

All that shows is the club are ripping off more fans than the last few seasons. Taking advantage of loyal supporters is not the best policy.
