But you could add the Blades figures to yours, its often what you fall back to when attendances are mentioned. Averaged 29600 in 92, more than you did when you won the league. You've never averaged above 40k, our highst average over a season is 43k, yours is 39k, we averaged above 40k for 4 consecutive seasons, of which was during the yoyo years. In the 80's during your decline you wre getting gates as low as 8k. 68 and onwards was part of our decline, where as your fortunes to a talk for the better, ours didn't so it's no surprise you had higher averaged when we were winning things and we weren't. Compare yourselves to Sunderland, Newcastle, Middlesborough and Hull the other northern 1 club cities. By any comparison considering the size of the respective cities, your support is absolutely pathetic.

Our capacity was cut to 32k in 1992 due to ground improvements, but don't let that get in the way of a good story eh? As for your 43k, nobody on here was around to witness those crowds that's how far back you're going. Like your trophies, all in black and white. So at least £700 a season ticket for the cheapest? And the cheapest 3 year was actually £1200 (just checked)

There are LOAD of people alive that have seen Hillsborough with 50k people in it. You were a nothing club until the end of the 60's and died again after the 70's. Hence why you were getting 8k gates in the 80's.
