7/1 on him staying at Middlesbrough so he's definitely on the move you'd think ? Villa into 2/1 we're at 5/4 is anyone likely to stomp up 10mill or so for him? Apparently villa are in for Hourhinane for 8mill according to the father in law a barnsley fan!

There is no chance Barnsley would get half that amount for him, when he's out of contract at the end of the summer.

If someone came in with £2m I think they'd snap their hands off.

In that case sign him up for £2million.

Barnsley have enough funds set a side from previous sell ons and don't need to sell players and can afford to let them go for free in the summer no need to cash in!

So if say Aston villa are desperate for him it's going to cost a fair bit to get him as barnsley don't need to sell him!

Re Boro striker dealings.....

Nugent likely to leave. Likeliest destination being reported as (swears profusely), Derby County

Karanka has now expressed an interest in signing Stoke's Bojan Krkic too.

So, should be some movement for Rhodes soon although likeliest destination remains Villa according to most reports.

Howver, Villa's interest seems to be focused on getting the Lansbury deal over the line for now.

Our interest in less ambitious alternatives to Rhodes suggests we may be taking another route to addressing any striker concerns. Plus Hooper is fit to play soon.
